  • Nice getaway

"My family and I have a wonderful time and enjoyed walking around the property. It is a very cozy and well stocked cabin with amenities to meet our needs. Debbie and Allan took the time to introduce themselves and welcomed us. We look forward to returning."

  • Tranquil Getaway Under The Stars

"My wife and I had an amazing visit to the Double E Ranch and loved the cabin we stayed in. The cabin was cosy and had everything we were promised and then some. This is certainly off the beaten path as you take a winding dirt road to the property but don't worry, our Prius made the treck just fine. We enjoyed walking around the property saying hi to the horses and exploring as much of the 360 acres as we could. At night, we gazed up into the night sky that was lit up with the best view of the stars you could imagine. We loved our time here and plan to make a trip back sometime in the near future!"

  • The Lane house

"My partner and I stayed at Bearpaw Ranch, in the Lane house for 7 nights. Rose was such a friendly and accommodating host that she soon felt like an old friend. Our cabin was roomy, stocked with everything we needed for meal preparation, with all the amenities of home but in a quiet and peaceful place that was heavenly. The only sounds breaking the silence were the calls and chirping of birds, cows mooing in the distance and the wind. It is a wonderful place for stargazing as there is zero light pollution at the ranch which allows for incredibly brilliant night skies. It also is in a good location for exploring several amazing local attractions, such as Gila Cliff Dwellings and hot springs, City of Rocks state park, the catwalk in Glenwood and Faywood hot spings. Silver City is nearby and a nice place to visit. It has several good grocery stores and many nice restaurants if you feel the need to spend a little time back in "civilization" during your stay at Bearpaw Ranch. We already look forward to a return visit."

"My husband and I feel so fortunate to have been able to stay on the Double E Ranch at Hideout cabin. Debbie and Alan have worked so hard to maintain the true feel of the old west. One week they would be there working 9-6 from Monday thru Sunday. It is the true west. We saw cowboys on horses rounding up cattle and had to stop for 5 mules on the road to the cabin. There were cattle grazing everywhere. Needless to say the beef tastes wonderful. Our charming cabin was so clean and cozy with everything we would need including a stock of DVD's for us to use. We had everything we needed and loved every picture and piece of furniture and Egytian cotton sheets and cozy bed. It was also nice that they had a washing machine and dryer for our use, too. We enjoyed the porch everyday and the weather was exceptional, especially to us northerners. We loved hiking around the ranch and eventually ventured off to a few of many beautiful hiking trails a few miles from the ranch. Debbie left a great packet of detailed information on the ranch and things to do in the area. Because we were there for one month, we had time to view the Cliff Dwellings, The Catwalk and the fish hatchery which were so interesting and even had a visit to El Paso. Really the area of the Gila National Forest is one of the most beautiful areas in the U.S. The pictures on the Eggelstons website are true to what you will see. We also saw havelinas, deer and turkeys. It was such a great feeling to return to our cozy cabin every day that we hated to leave this quiet, pieceful place to visit. Thanks, Debbie, Alan and Chris for being so helpful and for the information that you provided. We can't wait to come back!!!! Mike and Jan"
