  • Great value and location

"Staff was very friendly, nice playground area that our toddler loved. The local deer came down nightly to check out the activities. Would certainly come back without hesitation"

  • The location was absolutely the finest. The accomodations were adequate.

"For the amount of money per night, I would have expected some complimentary coffee or tea, and perhaps a paper towel or two. By the time I had to go out and purchase those items, the nightly expense rose. I also didn't appreciate having to lug my own garbage after paying a $50 cleaning fee. The potential for additional fees was a little bit overkill in my book. I have stayed at competitors' places (Ryland) which had all these things, including furnished happy hour on Fridays, at $50 below cost per night. Overall, however, I would rate the stay above average."

  • Authentic spacious mountain living at its best

"My husband and I were in town for the Red River Songwriter's festival and stayed at House on High for the long weekend. From the moment we arrived we couldn't stop smiling. The pictures posted - as beautiful as they are - don't do the cabin justice. Everything from the fireplace to the built in furniture and lovely decor exudes charm and warmth. I couldn't have loved this home any more if I had designed, built and decorated it myself. Firewood was provided for the fireplace and the linens on the beds were sumptuous. The kitchen was spacious, well appointed and organized. The outside temps while we were in Red River ranged from -10° to 26° Fahrenheit, but we were always cozy warm while in the cabin. Plenty of towels and pillows are provided. The wifi was adequate (can be tricky in the mountains) and there was a nice TV - but who has time for TV when in the Red River?!? Kristin, the owner, was very responsive to any questions we had. We hope to return again. <3"
