"We stayed in Casa Vieja for the entire month of August with our two small dogs and it was pretty much perfection. The house is a genuine old Santa Fe adobe that the owner keeps immaculately maintained. Casa Vieja is cozy, comfy and tastefully decorated. It is located in a gated compound with three houses on the property, in a quiet neighborhood in the interesting (to us) historic older part of Santa Fe. A great deal of thought and care was put into the interior decoration of the house, which is filled with beautiful furniture, oriental rugs, art, and antiques. The mattress was comfortable, the sheets and towels were high quality. The tile work in the bathroom is especially exquisite. The kitchen is a pleasure to work in and is fully stocked with plates, cutlery, pots & pans. The thick adobe walls keeps the house cool, even when it is hot outside and there are plenty of windows to open for a good cross breeze. The house has a fenced courtyard garden which is a lovely place to sit in and drink coffee in the morning. Everything was spanking clean when we arrived and for a reasonable fee, we had Nancy's housekeeper come in and clean once a week.
Apodaca Hill is an interesting neighborhood and you can walk to Canyon Road, The Plaza or Museum Hill from Casa Vieja.
I've saved the best for last -- Nancy was the perfect hostess, she was attentive and responsive to our needs, but not obtrusive. We hope to return next year."
