  • Charming , historical place in Santa Fe

"Very comfortable place, convenient to the Plaza. We were there during Spanish Market and could easily walk every day to the Plaza, museums, restaurants. Linda was very helpful and told us the history and gave us lots of information on what to do. Advised us to tour the State House and we ended up getting a private tour that was better than the history museum we had gone to the day before. It was hot when we were there and we appreciated the a/c though I doubt you would normally need it. Felt safe walking in the neighborhood. Parking right in front of the apartment. Comfortable bed, high ceiling. Thanks you Linda for leaving the wine and coffee! Would definitely stay here again"

  • Cute place

"I would have to agree with another reviewer that the pictures don't do this place justice. It was very nice, very clean, and we really appreciated the thoughtful extra touches (fresh eggs and bread, bottle of wine, coffee and creamer, trader joes toiletries, etc.). I would definitely stay here again. It was also easy walking distance to downtown."

  • Excellent Property and Location

"This is a wonderful house in a terrific location. It is as described. Very clean, well maintained, with plenty of bedding and bath towels. The master bath is large and very nice. The kitchen is equipped with pots and pans, even a coffee bean grinder with coffee beans in the freezer, and dishes. It is also easy to work in. Katherine was quick to respond and gave us all the information we needed, including a list of the supplies we would find in the house along with other useful information. The walk to the plaza and museums is a pleasant walk and short enough that you don't ever need to take your car. We like Mexican food and went to 2 good Mexican restaurants in the shopping center where the Sprouts is, a short drive away. We also enjoyed the café on the plaza. We highly recommend this property. We enjoyed the house and Santa Fe and hope to return. We would definitely stay in this house again, and I hope it is available when we plan our next trip. Sheila"

  • Peaceful and Relaxing

"Our second visit to Shining Sun Casita was as wonderful as our first, last November. Just as advertised, all the amenities are taken care of - bedroom with a comfortable queen bed and dressers/chests to unpack you luggage, a large closet to store extra items, cozy bathroom with a wonderful shower, and a kitchen stocked with all the basic equipment for a home-cooked meal. As it was just the two of us, we had no need for the linens provided for the living room futon-sofa, but we both felt it was comfortable the night we opened it up to lounge while watching a movie. Although we spent most of our time hiking and sightseeing in and around Santa Fe, the TV with DirecTV service was enjoyable when we wanted to laze away a few hours in the evening. There was no need for the wood stove to heat the casita in May, but firewood was provided in case things turned cool. The great cottonwood tree just outside the casita provided cooling shade for porch sitting. And our dog loved all the smells and sounds of the barnyard just beyond the casita. All in all, this is a fantastic place to make your home base while exploring Santa Fe, Los Alamos, Bandelier National Monument, the Sangre de Cristos Mountains, Santa Fe National Forest, and points beyond. On this visit, we took in all of the above, as well as Fort Union National Monument. There is no shortage of great places to eat, but be prepared to drive to get there. And if you like to try your luck, there are numerous tribe-operated casinos nearby."
