  • A wonderful house in Taos

"The Bear House is one of the nicest houses we've ever stayed in. I kept moving with my tea and book from room to room, during our stay. I wanted to make sure I enjoyed every reading spot, every view. The newer living room is bright and airy and spacious. The older living room (it seemed older to me) is cozy and perfect for reading or movie watching. And the master bedroom is something out of a (well-furnished) dream. I was even sort of sorry the weather turned warmer, while we were there, because we so enjoyed watching the fire from bed. If you cook, the kitchen will delight you. It's well stocked and well organized. And if you are bringing dog, the house really is fenced. Often I've rented places and the fenced area is sketchy at best. But Bear House fenced, which is a good thing, since there are coyotes in the area. And fox! It was great to hear the vixens early in the morning. It's a lovely and easy walk to downtown. And I made a habit, in the evening, of walking up Las Cruces to Penitente Lane, following Penitente to the old Taos Morada, which is a gorgeous and strange spot. And we got to practice piano as well. There's an upright grand piano in one of the bedrooms. I wish I could give the house 6 stars. It's a 6 star house."

  • Relaxing and Renewing

"What a delightful time we had staying in the Casita. After our trek from OK, it was pleasant to be greeted by Ed and Melissa, who were quite welcoming and helpful with information about Taos and the area. We appreciated their recommendations regarding particularly good dining spots and the useful details only locals can give you about the tourist sights. The Casita was comfortable and clean, we slept well on the supportive mattress and found the casita to be well equipped for our cooking needs. It was just the right size for a couple. We have highly praised the Casita and its location to our friends and family. Our intention is to return for more relaxation and see more Taos sights. If you go don't miss the Pueblo, the Plaza, Taos Inn(Adobe Bar), Harwood Museum, St Francis Asis Church and a trek in the Carson National Forest."

  • The devil is in the details

"This space is beautiful, large and very quiet. We would totally have given it five stars but there are a few things I thought should have been included. There was no coffee to start the day. Not even one starter cup. And no soap for the shower. For the next guest, we left a bag of coffee."
