  • This one is a winner!

"If you want to be close to town and the Plaza this is the house for you. Within walking distance of most everything, it couldn't be more convenient. Beautifully maintained, stocked and decorated, it is a delight. Each of the three bedrooms has its own bath, and there's a little sitting room with sofa bed which can be another bedroom. We loved every moment of our two weeks there and wished we could spend the summer!"

  • Walk to Taos Cow or Drive to Ski Valley

"This charming strawbale home is the perfect place, summer or winter. Close to the hiking trails off the ski valley road and within walking distance of Taos Cow, we got our exercise in the morning and then walked to Taos Cow in Arroyo Seco in the afternoons when we weren't bicycling around Valdez. The caretaker lives on the property, and we contacted him to change a smoke-detector battery in the second-floor ceiling (ladder required). He responded within minutes. He is familiar with all the trails and is happy to share his enthusiasm for the area. While we were there we looked for mushrooms but we will have to return next year! The house is "green," and we were happy to recycle. The design of the home is the most interesting we have seen in strawbale construction. Not only is there a half bath on the second story, but there are nichos and other thoughtful details throughout the home. The owner has an eclectic mix of art and weavings that blend flawlessly with the riot of colors outside in purple coneflower, Russian sage, and various sunflowers. We have rented 8 vrbo properties in the past two years, and this is the best for cleanliness, views, architecture, and location. You won't go wrong in renting this property for whatever activities you enjoy. A new plus is that it's close to a new restaurant, Common Fire, on the north side of Taos. We ate there 6 times during our month-long stay and enjoyed it like we had never been before every time. Sit close to the oven, or horno."

  • Fabulous family time in Taos

"Several members of our family stayed here during a wonderful weekend in Taos. This space was even better than advertised! We had plenty of room and bathrooms, yet it also felt cozy, with several places where people could gather for a conversation or a meal. Dining out or dining in were both stellar options here. We enjoyed making meals in the generously-stocked and well-equipped kitchen (ex: blue corn pancakes one morning from a delicious mix we found in the cupboard). The large dining table just off the kitchen was a perfect place for family to gather. We also enjoyed eating out at a beautiful spa just down the street (we stumbled onto it while walking). Like so many other reviewers, we enjoyed spending time out in the beautiful, shaded courtyard. The house was tastefully decorated and there were interesting art details and pieces to delight in every direction. The location was ideal - downtown is just around the corner, yet we felt a world away when we came home. We appreciated the excellent communication from both the owner and manager - we would definitely recommend and stay here again!"

  • Perfect Getaway Spot!

"What a fun space! We spent 3 nights in this rental last week & it was better than we expected. First, the location could not be better - only a couple minutes walk to the plaza. And when you step into the casita you feel as though you have stepped into another world - the decor is what I would call a good kind of "quirky." The pictures on the website portray the space accurately, but they can't do it justice. You have to see it in person to get the full effect. It takes awhile to take it all in and you discover new things over the course of your stay. The kitchen is fully equipped and the bathroom has both a tub and shower. The trundle bed is very comfortable should you need to use it. Great internet service and cable tv. The only issue we had was that the thermostat for the heat was locked and we could not adjust the temperature, so it got a little nippy inside after the sun went down (easily corrected but something you should ask about.) Also, you need to be able to climb a rather steep spiral staircase to get to the bedroom, so keep that in mind (not a negative for most folks, but something to keep in mind if you have trouble with steps.) This was a wonderful, reasonably priced place which we thoroughly enjoyed. We highly recommend it."
