  • Very nice home in Taos

"The home is nicely furnished inside with comfortable beds and a good supply of kitchen items for cooking inside. It's in a quiet location so leaving the windows open at night (in the summer) was a good way to cool the house. It does get a bit warm mid-day especially in the back bedrooms with no A/C, but they do cool off well at night when typical Taos temperatures drop into the 50s."

  • Lovely apartment

"The apartment/condo is located about 6 blocks from the plaza in a quiet neighborhood. It was very clean and comfortable, the kitchen was nicely outfitted with cooking utensils, plenty of extra blankets, pillows, sheets, etc. It was helpful to have a washer/dryer. We were 2 couples and had our privacy with one bedroom/bathroom upstairs (the "master") and one of each downstairs, smaller and off the kitchen, but definitely sufficient. It was quiet at night, very peaceful. The only small piece of feedback from one of our guests was that the furniture in the living room did not seem up to the standard of the rest of the condo. Not a big deal, overall, it was really a nice place to stay. Lise checked in with us to make sure we had arrived and were settled in, she was responsive to one or two questions we had during our stay. Recommended."

  • A wonderful house in Taos

"The Bear House is one of the nicest houses we've ever stayed in. I kept moving with my tea and book from room to room, during our stay. I wanted to make sure I enjoyed every reading spot, every view. The newer living room is bright and airy and spacious. The older living room (it seemed older to me) is cozy and perfect for reading or movie watching. And the master bedroom is something out of a (well-furnished) dream. I was even sort of sorry the weather turned warmer, while we were there, because we so enjoyed watching the fire from bed. If you cook, the kitchen will delight you. It's well stocked and well organized. And if you are bringing dog, the house really is fenced. Often I've rented places and the fenced area is sketchy at best. But Bear House fenced, which is a good thing, since there are coyotes in the area. And fox! It was great to hear the vixens early in the morning. It's a lovely and easy walk to downtown. And I made a habit, in the evening, of walking up Las Cruces to Penitente Lane, following Penitente to the old Taos Morada, which is a gorgeous and strange spot. And we got to practice piano as well. There's an upright grand piano in one of the bedrooms. I wish I could give the house 6 stars. It's a 6 star house."

  • Absolutely perfect in every way.

"This property is absolutely perfect in every way. Tucked away on a magical street in the center of town, it's walking distance to everything, yet feels quiet and removed. As an interior designer myself I really appreciated the tasteful decor, from the furniture to the original art to the gorgeous handwoven textiles. No detail was spared. I also loved having the possibility of renting the neighboring unit when traveling with a larger party. We will be returning and can highly recommend this lovely casita."
