  • The devil is in the details

"This space is beautiful, large and very quiet. We would totally have given it five stars but there are a few things I thought should have been included. There was no coffee to start the day. Not even one starter cup. And no soap for the shower. For the next guest, we left a bag of coffee."

  • Quaint, Cute Casita

"Nice, comfortable Casita near Plaza in downtown Taos. Casita is an older property but has necessary amenities to include kitchen, dining area, living room and separate bedroom. There is a little alcove with a twin bed for another adult or child. There is a bath in main bedroom. OK for a couple or small family only. Casita is in back of large main house so there is no street noise from major road thru town. Small, narrow street in back of property allows access to plenty of parking for main house and casita.. Casita is fully furnished with microwave, stove and dishwasher. There is a washer and dryer in bathroom off main bedroom. Caretaker, Lavanne, is a wonderful lady and very helpful in making the stay a success! Property is close to Plaza and is an easy walk there and to several good restaurants. Good value for the price and much better than the available motels in town. We hope to be back again soon."

  • Super nice house with room for everyone

"I have mostly all good things to say about this house, with only a handful of Small issues that are in no way deal breakers, but things that i believe can be easily fixed. Let me get the little things out of the way first: 1. There is a spiral staircase that leads up to the second floor bonus room. this staircase is very narrow and a bit scary. the frame is metal and it wobbles a bit, is coming apart at one or two seams, has areas that are rotted away and have been "patched" with bars. the stairs themselves feel very unstable. if you are not very balanced on your feet i would suggest just not going upstairs if you can help it. 2. In that upstairs bonus room it was very hot, and actually too warm in the bedrooms too. You'll find that the thermostats all over the house have labels asking you to not touch them. It's understandable the owner wouldn't want people messing with them, however they should have all been set much cooler since it was a warm week. 3. When we arrived, the bonus room upstairs had dead flies all over the carpet everywhere (and a few other little bugs), especially along the edges of the floor. as we knew kids would be up there, probably in bare feet, my husband went in search of a vacuum to get rid of them before anyone else arrived. 4. I'm not sure the cleaning crew cleaned the showers/tubs before we arrived as we found hair in a couple of them. Aside from those things i will say, this house is beautiful. it's so very southwest which is what we wanted. there was bed space for everyone (11 of us) and the beds were comfy. we Loved having the pool table, and were able to watch all our shows on netflix movies and the World Series with no problem. All the bedrooms have tv's which was nice. We had no trouble using the keypad/codes to get in. There is a community indoor pool on the street and the kids loved that. the bathrooms are spacious. all the essentials in the kitchen so we could cook. the owner was prompt and friendly with answering all my messages. the home is out of the way from town, on the way to the Taos Ski Valley. the drive into Taos was MAYBE 20 minutes if that, and didn't ever feel like a long drive. It was a great location. There were also 3 gorgeous horses from the property next door who would come by in the mornings to say hello and pose for pictures. I would definitely recommend this place for a family/group and hope to stay again myself sometime!"

"Everything was great. Our family of ten, grandparents - grandchild enjoyed our weeklong stay here. Great getaway. Beautiful views night and day. There was plenty of room and the hot tub was a hit!"
