  • Far above expectations! Beautiful quiet home.

"Our stay was perfect at the yellow brick home. The home is in such a nice quiet neighborhood just a couple minutes from restaurants and park. The home is spacious and super clean with nice modern decor throughout. Bedrooms have plush comfy beds. We slept like logs. The master bath has a spa like walk in shower. Sparkling tile adorns both bathrooms. Lovely. The yard has a great pool with lots of seating around and a nice grassy area all surrounded by a very secure and private 6' wall. Couldn't ask for a more perfect place. I will stay there anytime I go back through Roswell."

  • Great choice for laid-back travelers

"This is a great choice for eco-conscious travelers; we had a lovely 5-day stay here and found both Cathy and her dog to be delightfully quirky and friendly. This is a small pueblo-style home in a passive solar community just outside and to the southeast of urban Santa Fe. When we travel, our own needs are fairly simple, and we would probably best describe Cathy’s lifestyle as minimalist; she is particularly attentive to energy and water conservation—a good thing, given New Mexico’s arid climate. We came and went over the course of our stay, but enjoyed wide-ranging conversations with her when we were there. Read the details in the lodging description and DON’T FORGET TO BRING YOUR OWN COFFEE IF YOU DRINK IT (we found that there were several good local freeze-dried alternatives to Starbucks, which also sells instant coffee, and we found them quite acceptable during our stay even though we like good fresh Fair Trade coffee at home). Cathy was very helpful with information about convenient food options and local exploration and we would definitely come back here again!"

  • Great Place to Stay!

"We are a large group of four families that rented both the River Lodge and the attached River Cabin. It is a great space, with plenty of room for all of us to feel like we had our own room to spread out. The common areas are all spacious (although the kitchen could be better supplied). The only complaint we really had, and this could be because of the extraordinarily cold temps is that the windows were clearly not sealing right. For some of them you could see straight through to the outside... no weather stripping at all on any of them. This made for areas of each room that were very draftly and large variations in temperature. We also felt that the path to the River Cabin was not adequately shoveled as we had to stoop to get around to that side of the house and 3/4 of our group fell on that path. But the house itself was absolutely wonderful. We look forward to staying here again and hope that the few issues we had will be resolved by then!"
