  • Made for a Great Trip

"Stayed at this rental during the Northwood Hockey Invitational. Great option for Mom and Dad to come watch games without battling the hotel craziness. Perfect unit for a couple, close to everything including the rink (2.5 miles), but also far enough away to be removed from the crowds. Extremely comfortable unit, fully equipped and very well maintained. Close to grocery store. I arrived VERY late on a VERY cold night. Door unlocked easily and unit heated up in no time. Would highly recommend this as a more affordable and much nicer option to many of the local hotels to hockey parents."

  • Perfect spot for a family getaway in Lake Placid!

"My family has stayed at Wolfgang's house several times over the last few years, and there are several reasons why we keep coming back! -Location, location, location: Right on the shores of Mirror Lake, steps away from swimming and paddling in the summer months and skating or skiing in the winter. In the summertime, take a leisurely paddle across the lake on Tuesday nights to listen to free concerts in Main Street's Bandshell Park! The Mirror Lake Walk is also just up the driveway - an easy 2.6 mile cruise around the lake to stretch your legs. (Sidenote: this is also PERFECT for teenagers/ non-drivers as they can walk in to Main Street solo.) Restaurants and shopping are within walking distance and grocery stores are less than a 5 minute drive. About 15 minutes to Whiteface Mountain. -Rustic charm, yet spacious: The open floor plan is great for families! Lounge in the upstairs TV nook while still being able to hear conversations from the downstairs living room, kitchen, and dining room. Plenty of space for family gatherings, and the first floor is wheelchair accessible (I forget if we brought a ramp for the slight step up from the front door to the foyer or if one was provided....). While there are cozy nooks stashed all over the first floor, the area still feels spacious thanks to soaring ceilings and a gorgeous spiral staircase leading to the TV nook and upstairs bedrooms. There are three decks, one on each level of the house. From the ground floor living room and bedrooms, you can walk right out the door to the dock! -Comfort and convenience: As we've stayed here several times, I've slept in all of the beds in the house (and some of the couches....), and can vouch that they are SUPER COMFORTABLE. The 3 bathrooms are large and practical. The kitchen is well-equipped and comfortable; particularly love the table in the middle where you can either prep food or hang out and bother whoever is cooking :) -Separate living quarters (if wanted): There are two bedrooms, a full bathroom, and a living room on the ground floor of the house, which our family has alternately used as the "teen zone" or for couples wanting a bit of privacy from the rest of the group. -Easy communication with owner/managers: Wolfgang makes sure that there is always someone available to help out with any questions or concerns that may arise during your stay. If he is abroad, then he leaves contacts for his family members or caretaker, all of whom are also wonderful!"

  • A Great Getaway!

"This Lakeside House is in a great location. It's near stores, restaurants--places you'd like to pick up things you may need. But, it is set back from the main road so it is quiet and peaceful and feels like you are out in the quiet country and you are lakeside! The house is beautiful and well kept. It's clean, neat and well stocked. It has 4 bedrooms, 3 upstairs with a bathroom and the master bedroom on the main floor with a master bath which is great for all ages. There is a small indoor sitting room off the master bedroom (which also has access from the living room) where you can sit if it's cold outside or you're not dressed for outside. The kitchen, living room and dining room are all open so when you're cooking you are still involved with family and friends. This area has a half bath. The kitchen has a lot of cabinets and very good appliances! Downstairs there is a large family room which has a great pool table, which I enjoyed, and a TV room area. There are large glass doors with screens down and upstairs so you can see outside all the time and open them to get fresh air. My favorite place is the upper outside deck! The deck overlooks Lake Luzerne which is a peaceful, quiet, beautiful lake. The deck overlooks trees as well as the lake and has a lovely view. A small public beach is nearby (within walking distance) but you do not hear noise from the beach because of the beautiful greenery. It is so relaxing and peaceful to sit on the deck! There is a small sandy beach on the property that you can board your row boat or kayak and take off for a peaceful cruise in a great area! This is truly a lovely house and in a great setting! I'm sure anyone would enjoy it, I did!!"
