  • A comfortable, friendly atmosphere!

"The Haven was a great find! We are normally tent campers but decided to look for a cabin because the weather was questionable. We had a cozy cabin with a large deck and a fantastic view of the lake! The cabin was clean and just the right size for two people. The double bed was smaller than we are used to and the mattress a little to firm for me. It was great having a small refrigerator, toaster oven, microwave and coffee maker right in the cabin. There was a charcoal grill on the deck. We went canoeing and hiking on the property. The owners, Warren, Karen and Maria were very friendly and hospitable! We definately will be recommending The Haven to family and friends!"

  • One of the best places to have a quite vacation

"We stayed her from 16th to 23rd July 2016. Getting to the site was like a suspense movie. You would never believe a RV existed there. The RV was very nicely located close to the water yet no threat or danger. The place was very clean and well maintained and spacious for a couple and 2 kids. The temperature at night drops to about 50 Degrees F and in the morning it’s about 60 degrees F. We went to several lakes and I think Star Lake was very nice and small enough that you could paddle or go around without being too far away from land. The Gas station “Nice-N-Easy” is not too far and carries most grocery and produce you will need to have a comfortable stay. We also came across a small grocery store that was well stocked. We carried everything we thought we needed to stay for a month. If you are looking for a fancy restaurant and super markets or even a mall, you are at the wrong end of the woods. Stay home and do a staycation. Mr. Feet’s was been very friendly and was always there if we had any questions. We used the paddle boat and the kayak and we had a great time. We did not rent the island as we did not feel the need. We did rent the floating dock for 2 days. The first day it was too windy and chilly so we went for 2 hours and got back. The second day we did encounter some engine issues. The engine stopped every 15 minutes and we had to wait for 5 minutes and restart it back. We got it back to the dock and returned back to the RV. Overall a very pleasant trip and would definitely recommend to others and return next year."

  • Paradise on Tupper Lake

"This is an exquisite property beautifully managed right on Tupper Lake. It's perfect for a large family gathering or group rental. The large kitchen is fully stocked with everything needed, included three different seating areas: one in the kitchen itself; a kitchen counter with stools, and a large dining room table next to the kitchen. The bedrooms are comfortable, with good bed and bed linens, and many overlook the lake. We were there over the New Year's holidays, when snow blanketed the frozen lake and property, but the property was accessible and the roads kept clear on a regular basis. It's about a 10 to 15 minute drive into the center of Tupper Lake village where there's a well-stocked IGA supermarket. It's about 50 minutes from Lake Placid. Although there are other homes on the road leading to the house, you don't see them, and the privacy is excellent. It's so peaceful, so quiet, with beautiful views from every window. Our favorite room was the 2nd floor library overlooking the lake, with books on floor-to-ceiling shelves on all four walls, giving it a real manor house feel. Craig has furnished the house with antiques and Adirondack-style furniture. He is the perfect host, knowledgeable about the area, helpful in every way. I can't wait to visit again, and recommend it without reservation."

  • Beautiful weekend!

"This was our second year to have a sisters reunion, along with a couple of dear friends, at Sunset Haven and I can't wait to come back next year! The cabin is rustic vintage Adirondack camp style, not a luxury lodge. But great attention has been given to providing for everything you might want. We slept eight adults and three kids- four generations- comfortably and had beds left over. The addition of a half bath upstairs in the sleeping loft is a huge bonus. The bed we slept in was like sleeping in a cloud. The kitchen is basic but has everything. Who puts elegant Polish Pottery in a rental cabin? Beautiful! But plastic dishes if you want them for the kids, and plenty of pots and pans. The Warm September air actually let us have a couple of swims, and Bill provides great pontoon boat rides to tour beautiful Cranberry Lake. Coffee on the dock, loons and eagles across the lake, fire in the fireplace, supper in the screen porch, even the sound of night time rain on the roof- such relaxing get away. Don't miss the very best blueberry pancakes with real butter and real maple syrup at the diner in the hamlet of Cranberry Lake. Very fun weekend."
