  • Grand time at Ledgerock

"Ledgerock is a magnificent property, beautiful inside and out. Being in the Adirondacks is perfect in the summer heat because, not only do you have location, but you also enjoy elevation. Warm enough for beaching, but cool for touring, relaxing, and sleeping. We spent many hours relaxing on the patio with views of the channel at Old Forge. A peaceful, quiet place, with all the comforts of home, and an owner present to attend to your needs and wishes."

  • Beautiful Adirondack Setting on Brantingham Lake

"My family of six adults and one infant stayed here last week. The property was as expected and described by owner. It is a very comfortable property with lots of windows providing a nice cross breeze for those days when it is hot. We enjoyed the fire pit near the house. There is a second fire pit down by the water with enough sandy beach to play "washers". Our favorite part of the property was the boat house which has a nice bar area for eating on, enjoying a beverage etc. Inside the boat house, we tapped into the nice sound system and that room is big enough so that we brought my grandson's swing and jumper down for him when we wanted to get him out of the sun. Several of our family members used the kayaks provided by the owner and the fishing was very good. The view from the house is beautiful and the sunsets were amazing. I would definitely recommend this to future renters. We plan to return in the future as well. For supplies, we would recommend the super Walmart in Lowville (about 25 minutes away). They had everything we needed. Also, the Ford Dealer in Lowville has fantastic customer service should you need their services. My dad hit a deer on the way to visit us for the day and he was welcomed there while waiting for a tow truck to take the vehicle back to his home town. Maple syrup available on Route 177 just outside of Lowville; light, medium and dark. $40 per gallon and $25 per half gallon."

  • Most relaxing vacation ever

"From the moment we walked into the home, we knew we were in for a fantastic holiday week. The house was exactly as shown in the pictures. The rooms were spacious and the home immaculate. Through no fault of the owners whatsoever our dreams of a white Christmas were dashed by the unseasonably warm weather. That did not stop us from checking out neighboring towns (Utica, Lake Placid, Warrensburg), cooking some wonderful meals in the chef-style kitchen, grilling steaks (in December??), and relaxing with good books and wine. The surrounding area was beautiful, with great views of lakes and mountains. Although we did not need our snow shoes this time, we can't wait to go back and explore the trails! This was our first ever house rental, and First Lake Retreat sets a high bar for the future by having met every expectation we had!"
