  • Perfect

"The cabin is very cozy and comfortable. The radiant heat is great, we loved the warm floors. The cabin is very well equipped. Even though it was winter during our stay we were still able to enjoy the sunny front deck. It is definitely a place I would revisit."

  • Perfect fall getaway

"I rented this adorable/rustic cabin for a long weekend getaway with my mom and two sisters and it was perfect! We took full advantage of the water from swimming to paddleboarding to catch the best view of the peak fall foliage. We had outdoor fires and played games, watch movies, did puzzles, shopped in Inlet and Old Forge. It was so quiet there in October - just how we like it. There were some hiking trails available right from the house as well. We will definitely be back. The rental process was so easy through Homeaway! Thank you for sharing your home with us!!!!"

  • Camp Uncas, the best Adirondack vacation ever...

"I rented this property for ten days this summer, including Labor Day, and entertained different family members and friends during the week. This is an extraordinary property that is as authentic as you can get. It is one of the finest Adirondack Great Camps and to stay here was an honor and a privilege. The minute you turn on to Sagamore Road your blood pressure drops and you enter a very private and peaceful place. Traveling through the woods on the dirt road prepares you for what lies at the end of the drive. The historic and important property is situated on a beautiful peninsula overlooking pristine, private Lake Mohegan with breathtaking views everywhere you look. My guests enjoyed canoeing, kayaking, reading, swimming, napping and hiking. We also enjoyed making meals together in the well equipped kitchen and just enjoying each other's company. The screened in porch was a gathering place for breakfast and lunch each day and we had cocktails on the deck of Chingachgook Cottage or on the screened in porch to watch the sunset, and listen to the loons. When the temperature dropped in the evening, we moved inside to light a fire in the beautiful fireplace in the great room which also has a dining table and chairs to accommodate 12 people!. There was plenty of fire wood and my young guests enjoyed laying the fire each morning for that night's enjoyment. My guests are still talking about our time at Camp Uncas and fondly remember the solitude, peacefulness and beauty of the place. Architecturally this is an Adirondack masterpiece and it is in remarkable condition. To be living in J.P. Morgan's house for 10 days was also a special experience for me as I work in financial services and do business with J.P. Morgan every day! I also enjoyed sitting at the Adirondack styled rustic desk in the family room to check my emails once each day, and YES, the wireless connection was great, even though we were so far into the woods. All in all, I cannot say enough about Great Camp Uncas and the most memorable 10 days that I enjoyed there with my family and friends. We will be returning again in the near future!"
