"We stayed a week and woke up to the most beautiful sunrises over the water. The owner, Jonathan, was on hand and was tremendous in making sure there was everything we needed. The camp has so much history and so many stories! Would definitely stay here again. It's close to Whiteface Mountain, the ferry over to Vermont and many, many historical and natural sites."

  • Perfect Family Tradition

"We have rented Lakeside for the past ten years for two weeks each time. It has been the perfect gathering place for extended family and friends. Beautiful setting, clean, spacious, the house and the property have something for everyone. The owners are available for questions, are friendly and accommodating. They keep the property fresh and upgraded whether by adding a new dock or a freshly painted room-it is fun to see the subtle, tasteful changes each year. The location is perfect! Westport affords easy access to out door fun- on the lake or in the mountains, yet a ferry ride or mountain drive can bring you to interesting cities of Burlington or Lake Placid. Local airports are convenient for people to fly in for a long weekend. Though there is so much to see and do in the area, this property is so delightful that once we arrive we tend not to leave. Vacationing at Lakeside is the highlight of our year."

  • Great place, beautiful view!

"We stayed here for a long weekend for a wedding in September 2015. Beautiful place with an incredible view. Convenient to town, but very private. Watched some amazing sunrises!"

  • Nice place. Web listing description is accurate

"The house is charming, the views are wonderful, the lake is delightful. Being a group of eight, we comfortably slept in the four bedrooms. Also there are several sofas in several common rooms (dining, living, playroom, etc.) The owner was available on-line helping with the speedy answers for our questions. Also the manual in the house and the sticky notes on the walls guided us in proper directions (lights, fans, stairs, etc.). There are a lot of stairs and thresholds in the house, we were careful to observe all. The kitchen is well equipped, the grill is adequate, and we enjoyed the fire pit at the private beach. The town beach is not worth to waste your time, we enjoyed kayaking and swimming from our private beach. Two kayaks were provided by the owner, and our teenagers and their parents took turns kayaking. Our family liked dining at Iris, the Chinese restaurants in Plattsburgh are not good, but the Himalayan restaurant was interesting. Be sure to take a trip to Canada. Our drive to Montreal took 1 hr +, including the border control. (Need your passports, as driving licenses are not sufficient.) We loved Montreal; Burlington, VT is closer but much smaller and less interesting. In addition to the sightseeing (we took 3 hrs bus tour), Montreal shopping is advantageous. Lake Placid is another attraction in the area, being a site of two Winter Olympics Overall, it was a nice vacation and a family reunion for the three generations of the family."
