  • Very nice!

"Overall, really 5 stars. Gave 4 only because we were looking for accommodations for 2 parents and 2 college age kids. Sleeping arrangements were cozy, with 2 day beds for the college kids right outside the master bedroom. Would highly recommend for romantic getaway or couple with smaller children. No cable TV but I was happy for the break (and they did have wifi for the college kids). There was a TV for DVD playing and a selection of movies (we watched 2 as a family ... kinda nice!). I loved the house ... very clean, modern with quaintness of a guesthouse sitting on a farm. While the freestanding home sits close to the main house, the hosts were gracious but kept to themselves unless needed. Full kitchen with plates, appliances, etc. and washer and dryer. The view was spectacular -- I would imagine even better in the summer (we were there in November). Last but not least, she left eggs, bacon, milk and pancake mix so we didn't have to find our way around first thing in the morning (we arrived after dark). Nice touch!"

  • Excellent - Beautiful

"Our family and granddaughter stayed here for a week in August, 2016. The location was beautiful, quiet and peaceful. There is a Marina down the street that we rented a speed boat for a day. The insurance wasn't a lot and worth getting. The owners of the property live next door and were so nice and helpful with anything that you needed. We didn't see them all week unless we asked. There were 7 adults and one child and there was plenty of room for all of us. The game room was great for at night. Nothing like sitting on the deck with coffee in the morning with such a beautiful view. Well worth it!!!"

  • Our stay in Severence Bay was delightful!

"We enjoyed every minute in this beautiful and large home on the lake. The kitchen was well equipped and the bedrooms and baths were clean and comfortable. The deck facing the lake was cool and peaceful and the lake was picture perfect. This is the place to go if you love nature and clean air and water. If we could of had access to a boat this place would have been perfect. Hiking and the quiet Schroon Lake town was charming but not the place to go if you need enterainment other than an early dinner and the sound of loons on the lake. We will return. And the Owner couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming. Thank you for everything from my kids and friends and myself."

  • Perfect

"This property is exactly as advertised, and my family could not have been happier with the experience. It was a perfect vacation for us (myself, wife, 4 year old son, 9 and 16 year old daughters). Every one of us enjoyed the kayaks, the peddle boat, and the entire house in general. There was more than enough room for all of us. We loved the drive down the dirt road to get to the house and greatly appreciated its seclusion. At the same time, there is a 24 hour Walmart, a Rite Aid, Dunkin Donuts, McDonald's, and a Subway 5-10 minutes away from the house. We did a pretty large food shop at Walmart the day we arrived and ate the majority of our meals at the house. We enjoyed making breakfast each morning and doing a lot of BBQing. It was a world of difference from most vacations where we've had to eat out for every meal and always seemed to rush from one thing to the other. We took a few awesome day trips including Ausable Chasm, the Ben and Jerry's Factory in Vermont, and Lake George Village. (If going into Vermont for the day, we suggest driving over the bridge and returning on the ferry, or vica versa...two different scenic routes). The owners were extremely easy to work with and also very responsive to all questions and concerns before, during and after our stay. If there was anything at all that wasn't perfect, it was the fishing from the dock. I'm sure it is because of the time of year I went, but the vegetation and growth so close to the shore made for nothing but the hooks getting caught up and dragging in all the weeds. We did catch a bunch of fish, though, once we took the poles with us out on the kayaks and peddle boat, past all the growth. The vast majority of things we did and places we went were all from the list of suggestions provided by the owners once you book with them. Nothing disappointed. It was all fantastic. So, we had an amazing, relaxing, and much needed vacation that provided an abundance of family time and allowed us to all really take a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and really enjoy eath other. We look forward to staying here again in the future. - The McGowan's from Long Island, NY"
