  • Comfortable and welcoming

"Overall Phil and his wife were very accommodating and detailed in the instructions from start to finish. The house was very well stocked with all nesssary supplies. The dog crate worked great even though my dog hated it. He doesn't normally stay in one at all. The fenced-in backyard was very useful for my dog. A few things I think could be better though would be hooks on doors to hang clothing while showering, better water pressure, and a working pellet stove. Maybe also make the home more kid friendly and safe like child locks on cabinets with unsafe and breakable things in them. The cleaning charge is too high and maybe a little more attention to detail when it comes to cleaning. Other then those few suggested changes the house was great. It was a beautiful location and convenient to getting around."

  • Amazing location!

"Location, location, location. The home is lovely with a great deck. The living room is extremely comfortable with a new couch and matching ez-chairs. Practically everything you need to cook and enjoy the home 24 hours a day is at your disposal. We swam in the little cove, ate meals on the deck and enjoyed the adirondack chairs. Even ate on the covered deck during an amazing thunderstorm. Nice shopping in Bolton Landing and free concerts. Close to Fort Ticonderoga. A few restaurants in the neighborhood, although we only ate out once since we were enjoying the house so much. And the stars at night! I could go on... Owner is very attentive and caretaker is available if needed."

  • Fantastic!

"We stayed at this beautiful property for a weekend to attend a wedding in Middlebury. The Swallows Nest was perfect! We met the owner Lyn who was warm, welcoming and very willing to give us information about the area. Lyn gave us a history of the farm the amazing repairs that they have done to the barns so far and what will done in the future. So many birds, turkeys, geese, herons, ducks, hummingbirds, of course swallows and a furry woodchuck. The cottage was very clean, comfortable, quite and had everything you could need. We would and will definitely stay here again and recommend to friends. One thing to note, there is NO TV. Which is FINE by me - great chance to disconnect from the world. Wi-Fi is available. Thanks so much for a great stay!"

  • Amazing Home

"Very comfortable! The old stall doors throughout the house add so much character. Lots of very comfortable, top of the line furniture. Kitchen if fully stocked and we prepared amazingly delicious meals. We slept very well and I felt very comfortable and at home in this rental. Our family especially loved playing ping pong and Rummikub. The game selection is top notch. There was lots of snow and the weather was a quite cold 4 degrees yet we were very comfortable. There's plenty of parking as our adult children came to celebrate Christmas (in February). Plenty of hot water for showers, laundry and dishwasher. I would highly recommend this home for a getaway. Can't wait to come in the summer! Thank you Alison for sharing your home with us!"
