  • Great cozy cabin for getting away!

"My friend and I went up for a weekend of triathlon training. Cabin was perfect for our needs. Off the beaten path but accessible to Wilmington, Whiteface and Lake Placid within 20-30 minutes. Cabin is about 5 miles off 86. So in theory, we could have ridden our bikes right onto the Ironman course (except for the little bit of dirt roads). Fully stocked cozy studio cabin. Kitchen had more gadgets than I have at home! Keurig, regular coffee maker, toaster, microwave, blender and gas stove to name a few, plus a gas grill and fire pit. More cleaning supplies than two type A triathletes could imagine using. Towels and extra pillows and blankets were also available. Garage was perfect size for Honda CRV with tow hitch bike rack to fit. This was super convenient!! It rained all weekend for us so we didn't get to play with the fire pit. You may want to bring your own wood to burn. There seemed to be some available but it's something to think about. I didn't notice sticks for marshmellows either. We took a hike down to the river as well. Very steep and trail was slightly overgrown but as long as you have a decent sense of direction (and adventure!) you'll be fine. It's gorgeous there and worth it for some good pics. There is a DVD player but movie selection is limited. Bring your favorite movie or two should you find yourself needing to pass the time. In addition to DVD, the TV is set up for Direct TV and there is also a WII game system. Based on previous recommendation of "easy to lock yourself out", we left one key in the lock box just in case we got locked out. Double check hot water when you get there. Hot water heater was set to "vacation mode" when we arrived but we didn't know until we needed to shower (our bad). We received immediate assistance though! All in all, great place to stay! I can't wait to bring my husband up for a romantic weekend getaway!"

  • Comforts of Home!

"We just returned from our stay at this beautiful home. I can't say enough about the beauty of it both inside and out. I relaxed on the hammock outside and read, we enjoyed coffee on the back deck in the mornings and played pool in the evenings. The home is very warm and cozy and I have to say I have never slept in a more comfortable bed than the one in the master bedroom. Our two older daughters enjoyed the privacy of the two rooms downstairs and the living quarters. This home was perfect for us and we plan on going back during the winter months."

  • Clean, Comfortable, Well Equipped, Great Location!

"This condo has a great layout with plenty of bed options -- it was perfect for the nine of us -- our family of four plus my teenage daughter's five friends. The six teenage friends slept in the loft and there were enough separate beds so that the boys didn't have to share. The stairs to the loft are a regular staircase, so even a family with young children could stay in the loft if you're sharing the place with multiple families or couples. The master bedroom was spacious and set in the back; we weren't disturbed by the teenagers staying up late in the living room. The place is extremely well kept -- the kitchen is big, has every single item you would need for any kind of cooking and has plenty of cabinet and counter space -- better than my kitchen at home! It's near kayak rentals and is walking distance to town so it's location is perfect. Plus, it's right on Lake Placid so the views are gorgeous. To top it off, the owner is extremely helpful and caring and went out of her way to accomodate our needs, advise us on places to shop, rent from, etc. Eventhough it rained for a large part of the weekend we still had a great time just hanging out in the condo playing games, guitar, etc."
