  • Perfect

"Our stay here was the first stop in a trip down memory lane, having been in the Adirondaks years ago. We had a terrific time at this house on Trout Lake. It came equipped with everything we could possibly need. The lake was right out the back door, with chairs and a table lakeside. Our host was handily next door but we didn't need him for anything regarding the house, just info about the area. Would come back in a heartbeat if we could."

  • A Great Getaway!

"This Lakeside House is in a great location. It's near stores, restaurants--places you'd like to pick up things you may need. But, it is set back from the main road so it is quiet and peaceful and feels like you are out in the quiet country and you are lakeside! The house is beautiful and well kept. It's clean, neat and well stocked. It has 4 bedrooms, 3 upstairs with a bathroom and the master bedroom on the main floor with a master bath which is great for all ages. There is a small indoor sitting room off the master bedroom (which also has access from the living room) where you can sit if it's cold outside or you're not dressed for outside. The kitchen, living room and dining room are all open so when you're cooking you are still involved with family and friends. This area has a half bath. The kitchen has a lot of cabinets and very good appliances! Downstairs there is a large family room which has a great pool table, which I enjoyed, and a TV room area. There are large glass doors with screens down and upstairs so you can see outside all the time and open them to get fresh air. My favorite place is the upper outside deck! The deck overlooks Lake Luzerne which is a peaceful, quiet, beautiful lake. The deck overlooks trees as well as the lake and has a lovely view. A small public beach is nearby (within walking distance) but you do not hear noise from the beach because of the beautiful greenery. It is so relaxing and peaceful to sit on the deck! There is a small sandy beach on the property that you can board your row boat or kayak and take off for a peaceful cruise in a great area! This is truly a lovely house and in a great setting! I'm sure anyone would enjoy it, I did!!"

  • Excellent

"We had the best time in Lake Placid. The house was very comfortable especially the beds. We have stayed in many rental homes this one is the best by far for sleeping arrangements. There was plenty of room to sit around the dining table also lots of comfy furniture in the living room. The weather that weekend was beautiful the foliage was breathtaking so we spent a lot of time on the large deck that provided plenty of chairs. The house was well kept we have no complaints. Our hats are off to the owners. We will be back if the house is available for our next sibling reunion. Thanks for sharing your home with us. The Slate, McQueen clan."

  • Perfect Family Tradition

"We have rented Lakeside for the past ten years for two weeks each time. It has been the perfect gathering place for extended family and friends. Beautiful setting, clean, spacious, the house and the property have something for everyone. The owners are available for questions, are friendly and accommodating. They keep the property fresh and upgraded whether by adding a new dock or a freshly painted room-it is fun to see the subtle, tasteful changes each year. The location is perfect! Westport affords easy access to out door fun- on the lake or in the mountains, yet a ferry ride or mountain drive can bring you to interesting cities of Burlington or Lake Placid. Local airports are convenient for people to fly in for a long weekend. Though there is so much to see and do in the area, this property is so delightful that once we arrive we tend not to leave. Vacationing at Lakeside is the highlight of our year."
