  • Wonderful Adirondack Stay

"We had an amazing stay at this Schroon Lake home in mid-August. There were 5 of us staying in this spacious home, where we all had our own corner to retreat to as well as a beautiful, open space between the kitchen, dining area and living room to share, not to mention the deck big enough for two separate tables where we enjoyed breakfast while look out over the Lake. The town of Schroon Lake is pleasant and quiet but with a large grocery store as well as several eateries. The town beach is a sandy spot for young and old alike to enjoy the water and the view of the length of the Lake. We highly recommend Sticks and Stones restaurant as well as the Paradox Brewery down the road. This home is in close proximity to the Natural Stone Bridge and Caves where we spent a great day out in nature. It's also within a 30 min. drive to Fort Ticonderoga as well as an hour's drive to Lake Placid and the Adirondack Museum, all of which made for fun day trips. The home itself is well maintained and very clean, with very friendly people living locally who handle the maintenance and cleaning, who can be quickly and easily contacted if any issues come up (though none did while we were there). We cannot say enough wonderful things about this home and it's owner, who was regularly in contact with us all the way through the time of our rental and gave us all the information we needed to have a magnificent summer vacation stay!"

  • Peace and Quiet in the Adirondacks!

"This log home is very well maintained and is nestled into a nice and peaceful area. The appliances are modern and there is laundry service in the basement. Both the owner and the realtor provided answers to any of our questions and were prompt in their responses. If you like to observe nature (we saw chipmunks, deer, ducks, an eagle, loons and a crazy osprey that liked to dive-bomb the water in search of a meal), then this is the cabin you've been looking for! There are a few neighbors down the road (if anyone is staying there) and there are many 'regulars' residing on the main road, lakeside. Many were very friendly and polite when conversing. The owner has provided a large flat-bottom row boat which can be used on the pond and there is a sandy area to hand launch kayaks (if you bring them). The fishing was decent, depending on your target species. We caught bluegill, perch, crappie, chain pickerel and very healthy Large Mouth Bass (a tale of caution though, certain locals are very protective of 'their' bass). Don't plan on catching a few for dinner in this pond (we had very good luck catching dinner in lower Schroon Lake). This property is on a private lake and located in between Brant Lake and Schroon Lake and the roads in are in fairly decent shape, many have been recently resurfaced. There are some local attractions and places to hike as well as some restaurants in Schroon Lake. We mostly used the grill on the deck, which is provided. My only comment even close to a complaint would be the firmness of the mattresses, I would recommend bringing a mattress pad if you prefer a softer bed. If you like a firm bed, then you'll find it very comfortable. I would recommend this cabin to friends and family and would definitely consider another week the following season! Thank you for allowing us into your beautiful cabin!"
