  • Immaculate Interior

"Mary ann the owner is a sweetheart of a person. She recommended a great restaurant right down the road., which was a BYOB. The interior of the boat house was Immaculate, which was my main concern, Very comfortable & cozy, what an awesome view right on the Lake. I used her kayak & paddles & life vest. She lent me butter that i ended up not using. The only reason i didnt give it 5 stars was the outdoor furniture on the deck was really tired. i sat in the chair & it broke. There are built in seats in the deck so it didnt bother me. Great Place & Great Owner!"

"The cabin is set well off the road, which is great for a family stay with children being able to roam free. There is land to hike right on the property as well as a fire pit and ample clearing for stargazing. We brought along a large telescope and were able to view the full hunter moon this weekend. The cabin is all very new which makes cleaning at the end of a stay easy as pie. There are rockers on the porch for comfort rain or shine. There is one queen bed downstairs and two full beds upstairs...the 2 twins beds that were mentioned in the vrbo site, unfortunately, are each above one full sized bed instead of being in another room, bunk beds, basically. My grown son and his sister had to share a room. They made do, although they did say the beds were not comfortable. That being much sleep do you need on a family vacation? We hiked, ate at restaurants and picnicked the weekend away. Sugar hill was an enjoyable stay."

  • Rustic cabin nestled amongst the trees

"We rented this cabin for a week in August. Both owners (John and Margaret) were wonderful to work with. They answered all of the questions I had promptly and professionally. The cabin was clean and very well equipped. They even provided firewood which we greatly appreciated. The cabin itself is nestled within a cove near the narrows of Lake George, making swimming off of their dock safe and calm. The water in that portion of the lake is also quite clear. The property is heavily treed, so it remained cool although the daytime temps were in the high 80's that week. The porch runs the length of the cabin and is huge. We ate all of our meals on it while enjoying the beautiful lake. Although the porch is not screened, we didn't have any problems with mosquitoes. This is no way a criticism, but there are alot of stairs. There's a set to get down to the camp and another lengthy set to head down to the dock. We didn't have any problems with them, but my mother required assistance. If you're looking for a rustic experience but don't want to rough it, this spot is perfect. We loved it!!"

  • Wonderful

"It is a pleasure to say how wonderful our stay in the Schroon Cabin was. It turned out to be exactly as depicted on the website, with wonderful views over the Schroon Lake (an enjoyable part of our stay was exploring the Gore Mountain). The living room and dining room were large and comfortable, the kitchen well-equipped. The cabin could not be better located. Thank you. My only regret is that our stay was far too short!"
