  • A Perfect Embodiment of Pure Berkshires Beauty

"I must confess that I found this listing after another lease agreement happened to fall through at the last minute. Well, that's the best thing that could have happened to me, a blessing in disguise. Loving all the Western Mass summer attractions, I never stayed on the New York side of the Berkshires before. If that is your concern, don't fret. Tanglewood is less than 25 minutes away, and many other great spots are also close: the Shakespeare Theatre, Barrington Theatre, museums, great restaurants, and lots of hiking and nature. I've been staying in the Berkshires for years, and this property has the most beautiful view I have ever seen. It's so open, bucolic, serene -- and the backyard is well maintained, so sitting in the back, and playing in the grass, is a joy not overwhelmed by bugs and wild growth all over (all of that is kept at a safe, but beautifully close, distance). The house itself is spacious enough to be comfortable for several people, and it's VERY clean. This is important when you're staying so close to the woods and mountains. I didn't see anything more than a couple ants while I was there. It's not an overstatement to say that my summer stay in the Berkshires this year was magical and unforgettable; and Rick's family's place allowed that to happen. You can tell that he and his family love this house and take good care of it. That's always a good sign. If you want beauty and comfort and all things Berkshires, then this is a wonderful place to stay. You absolutely will not be disappointed. And, it most certainly helps that in all his dealings, Rick is quickly responsive and easy to reach. I strongly recommend."

  • A great family reunion retreat for all!

"This home and property offered an incredibly relaxing getaway for our family reunion for guests aged 6 to 80. The home has comfortable sleeping accommodations on three floors, offering everyone in a larger party a nice private place to retreat in the evening, or just for a nap or some quiet time during the day. Meal preparation was easy in the well appointed kitchen, and the dining table and deck made for a great place to enjoy meals together. The grounds are beautiful, and the pool was wonderful! It rained a fair amount during our stay, but we enjoyed swimming when we could, inter-generational wiffle-ball games, hunting for frogs, and picking raspberries from the bushes. And when the rain came down hard, we enjoyed the sound system and lots of games! This home and the property is simply wonderful- leaving little need to venture out. We'd definitely stay again, and recommend it highly."

  • Cozy, Charming and Lovely Grounds

"Bruce was an absolute pleasure to work with. I reached out to him a week prior to an impromptu weekend gateway, and he responded immediately. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised at how tasteful decorated and well-organized the place is. The owners' attention to detail is apparent throughout the house, from neatly-labeled soap dispensers to perfectly stacked books. Our young children loved the toys and books, and the expansive yard with a swing set, hammock, and meticulously maintained flower beds. The owners live right beside this cottage, so we had the chance to bump into them here and there which made our mini-vacation extra intimate. While the younger children napped in the house, I sat in the backyard and watched my older one on the swingset. With the mountains in the background and hearing nothing but the breeze blowing through the leaves, I wondered how one could ever get tired of this view. The only down side is that the house appears to have been converted from a farm house, so noise and light insulation is definitely lacking. One can easily hear conversations in the bedrooms upstairs and vice-versa. But Bruce's hospitality has more than made up for it. Thank you for making our family weekend in the Berkshires simply sublime!"

  • Getaway with friends

"First of all, I would like to thank Sarah for sharing her lovely home. We were 2 couples from Brooklyn looking to enjoy the Berkshire area. The home exceeded all expectations. The details inside the home tells you how much the owner really cares about her property. The antiques throughout the house was a decorator's dream. The location was ideal for traveling back from Williamstown. The home is set back off a main road so traffic noise was nonexistent. The main bedroom has a breathtaking window which looks out into the forest. I feel guilty giving such a great review since I would love to keep this house a secret."
