  • Beautiful Farmhouse in Serene Setting

"I rented the Davidson Family Farm for some family and friends to stay in while attending my sister's wedding in the Capital Area of NY State. Although the property is located in a lovely and remote spot, it is less than an hour to Albany, Saratoga Springs, Bennington, etc. The property was beautiful and well maintained. We slept 10 people easily. The family responded quickly and courteously to all inquiries. We really enjoyed our time at the house and would be glad to go back."

  • Perfect

"My husband and I and two other couples stayed at this lovely Victorian house two weekends ago. We were visiting saratoga for a Dave Matthews concert at spac and were booked into a hotel that was too far out of town. We decided last minute to try vrbo. I got in touch with the owner Joanne who was nice as can be and responded very quickly to my email. The house was immaculate and very comfortable for 6 people and can hold at least two more couples. We each had our own bathroom and beds were very comfortable! Even though the owner told me she would be in Sweden during our stay she contacted me two or three times and responded promptly to my many silly questions! The house is a short walk to the middle of town which made it extremely easy to go out our second night and not have to worry about driving. I would absolutely stay there again and highly recommend it as an alternative to staying in a hotel!"

  • A Perfect Embodiment of Pure Berkshires Beauty

"I must confess that I found this listing after another lease agreement happened to fall through at the last minute. Well, that's the best thing that could have happened to me, a blessing in disguise. Loving all the Western Mass summer attractions, I never stayed on the New York side of the Berkshires before. If that is your concern, don't fret. Tanglewood is less than 25 minutes away, and many other great spots are also close: the Shakespeare Theatre, Barrington Theatre, museums, great restaurants, and lots of hiking and nature. I've been staying in the Berkshires for years, and this property has the most beautiful view I have ever seen. It's so open, bucolic, serene -- and the backyard is well maintained, so sitting in the back, and playing in the grass, is a joy not overwhelmed by bugs and wild growth all over (all of that is kept at a safe, but beautifully close, distance). The house itself is spacious enough to be comfortable for several people, and it's VERY clean. This is important when you're staying so close to the woods and mountains. I didn't see anything more than a couple ants while I was there. It's not an overstatement to say that my summer stay in the Berkshires this year was magical and unforgettable; and Rick's family's place allowed that to happen. You can tell that he and his family love this house and take good care of it. That's always a good sign. If you want beauty and comfort and all things Berkshires, then this is a wonderful place to stay. You absolutely will not be disappointed. And, it most certainly helps that in all his dealings, Rick is quickly responsive and easy to reach. I strongly recommend."

  • Scenic and private

"For summer rental the pond is definitely the highlight. The picture doesn't describe this large weedless pond properly. Completely surrounded by woods on property that really has no visible neighbours this pond is the highlight of the rental. Air temp in August was low 80s and the surface water temp was probably mid 70s. Very cold a few feet deeper but that means you just have to float in comfort. The 2nd story south facing deck on the house was high enough to be bug free, catches the breeze and had a pleasing view of the big lawn and woods. Great for relaxing, dining or star gazing. Great Barrington is about 1/2 hour away which has the needed grocery stores (Guido's or the Co op), shopping, restaurants and a different hiking trail every day. Can't say much about the house because we spent most of the time outside. One drawback was that the TV had no cable or satellite reception but the wi fi was fast and reliable."
