  • Quiet, light, conveniently located apartment with access to a magical courtyard

"This is a gem. This basement apartment is surprisingly well lit, in a quiet street close to the F line. Smith and Court Street offer a range of excellent restaurants and bars, with more options (including Prospect Park) within easy walking distance. The lounge dining area is spacious, the kitchen well equipped, and the bathroom includes a very convenient washer-drier combination. The separate bedroom is a boon for jet-lagged travellers--not every one has to be awake at 3.00am when you can't sleep, or at midnight when you have a teleconference in Australia. There is access to a delightful courtyard (equipped with its own performing squirrel troupe), perfect for a leisurely breakfast and functions well as a second distinct work space if you need it. And so well maintained--perfectly clean, the infrastructure for sorting garbage already set up, and the leaf litter regularly cleared from the entrance to the unit. Very responsive, but not intrusive, hosts. We will be back."

  • Perfect, relaxing getaway!

"We love it here! The cabin is so nice! The beds and furniture are comfortable, it's very clean and well cared for. Our son fished for hours a day in the gorgeous, well stocked pond for bass & bluegill. We loved being so close to Bemus Point as well as lots of other things to do. We went horseback riding & even drove to Presque Isle for a day. Perfect vacation!"

  • Great cozy cabin for getting away!

"My friend and I went up for a weekend of triathlon training. Cabin was perfect for our needs. Off the beaten path but accessible to Wilmington, Whiteface and Lake Placid within 20-30 minutes. Cabin is about 5 miles off 86. So in theory, we could have ridden our bikes right onto the Ironman course (except for the little bit of dirt roads). Fully stocked cozy studio cabin. Kitchen had more gadgets than I have at home! Keurig, regular coffee maker, toaster, microwave, blender and gas stove to name a few, plus a gas grill and fire pit. More cleaning supplies than two type A triathletes could imagine using. Towels and extra pillows and blankets were also available. Garage was perfect size for Honda CRV with tow hitch bike rack to fit. This was super convenient!! It rained all weekend for us so we didn't get to play with the fire pit. You may want to bring your own wood to burn. There seemed to be some available but it's something to think about. I didn't notice sticks for marshmellows either. We took a hike down to the river as well. Very steep and trail was slightly overgrown but as long as you have a decent sense of direction (and adventure!) you'll be fine. It's gorgeous there and worth it for some good pics. There is a DVD player but movie selection is limited. Bring your favorite movie or two should you find yourself needing to pass the time. In addition to DVD, the TV is set up for Direct TV and there is also a WII game system. Based on previous recommendation of "easy to lock yourself out", we left one key in the lock box just in case we got locked out. Double check hot water when you get there. Hot water heater was set to "vacation mode" when we arrived but we didn't know until we needed to shower (our bad). We received immediate assistance though! All in all, great place to stay! I can't wait to bring my husband up for a romantic weekend getaway!"

  • Bright, Clean, Cozy--An Oasis on Shelter Island

"My stay in Shelter Island was fantastic thanks to this bright, clean, cozy farmhouse. The house has all the amenities you need, and is well located on the island--I esp enjoyed walks along the beach and to the local eateries. I hope to return again for another wonderful island getaway!"
