  • Comfortable Stay in Brooklyn

"My husband and I like to stay in Brooklyn near an MTA station when visiting NYC and this apartment filled the bill perfectly. The apartment had everything we needed to be very comfortable during our stay and was in a perfect location for restaurants, a little shop for breakfast food, and easy access to everywhere we wanted to go. After the hubbub of Manhattan, it was lovely to come home to a quiet spot on a tree lined street to relax and spend the night. Having an air conditioner in the bedroom helped us to get a good night's sleep after the August heat of the day."

  • Perfect for a family ski vacation

"My children and I just sent a week in this lovely ski chalet. We chose this location specifically for its proximity to Royal Mountain which is known for being family friendly and a great place for children to learn to ski. This was our children's first ski experience and we could not have been more pleased with the mountain and our accommodations. The house is located within walking distance of the lodge and the lifts. I drove the kids up to the lodge in the morning and they were able to walk back on their own for lunch and at the end of the day. If you are using your own equipment (we rented) you can literally ski back into your living room!! The house was warm and cozy with an excellent central heating system as well as a wood stove in the living room. After-ski evenings were spent watching movies on the sofa munching on fresh popcorn from the old-fashioned popcorn machine and drinking hot cocoa. The cabin has a fully equipped kitchen and there is a major grocery store just about 20 minutes away so it was easy to stock up for our stay. The master bedroom is small but comfortable with a queen sized bed and plenty of warm covers and a closet to keep everything organized and out of the way. The second bedroom has custom-made bunk beds and sleeps 3, which was perfect for our kids. There is also a mudroom with laundry facilities which kept snow and mud out of the house and allowed us to get all of the kids' gear warm and dry for the next day. Royal Mountain is only open on weekends and during school holidays but during the week, you could easily use this home as a base of operations for day trips to West Mountain, Gore or even Whiteface which are all open daily. For us, Royal was the perfect place to get my kids up and skiing for the first time. There is a great "bunny slope" for lessons and practice and plenty of gentle terrain on the main mountain to keep them happy. The mountain has runs for all levels of skier from beginner to expert so more advanced skiers will certainly not be bored. There is a nice lodge with a snack bar and a separate bar for the grown ups. My kids took advantage of the beginners' ski program. The equipment they were fitted with was really good quality and well maintained. After a few hours of instruction, they were up and able to navigate the main mountain and lifts all on their own! I could easily see coming up here every weekend if we lived in the Albany area. Highly recommended!"

  • Wonderful!

"My wife and I made a short trip to the Finger Lakes and stayed at Diane's place. Wow. It was immaculately kept, the scenes were beautiful, and the place itself was very comfortable. There is plenty to do within 20 minutes in every direction; from MacKenzie Childs to fishing on the dock this place had it all. Thank you to the owner for opening up their home to us. I am recommending it to a friend who is staying the same area this fall."

  • Tranquility on the lake

"We spent our vacation at the Hideaway at North Lake in August of 2015. On the weekdays this was truly the place of peace and tranquility. The view of the lake from the living room, hummingbirds around the feeders, fragrant air… The weekend was somewhat different. There is public boat launch nearby, and it was used quite a bit by the weekender crowd with power boats practically all day. The cabin is tastefully decorated, and very comfortable. The lake is beautiful, and views change, as you paddle along. We used Dave and Diane’s canoe quite a bit, and got a good workout! There are some fishing opportunities in the area – talk to Dave and Diane… there are some hiking trails too…"
