  • Great retreat for large groups

"We rented just the large house for a group of twelve, and it was perfect for a weekend escape from the city. The house is secluded atop a hill all by itself, right next to the woods, with amazing views of the surrounding area, and the assurances that you will have privacy and peace and quiet. The open floorplan connecting the living room, dining room, and kitchen provided the perfect space for everyone to gather and spend time together; the kitchen was fully stocked and perfect for preparing meals; the picture window above the kitchen sink led to competitions over who got to wash the dishes; the hot tub was massive and frequently used; and the fire pit outside brought the whole group together in the evening. Just the perfect getaway."

  • Warm, welcoming home for a long weekend

"We two Manhattan dwellers were invited to a Thanksgiving feast upstate and decided to make a long weekend of it. We found this lovely home and had a wonderful time. Morag Hann greeted us and showed us everything we needed to know before handing over the keys to the home she has decorated so beautifully. The kitchen is large and well-equipped with a large table where we had breakfast every morning, watching chickadees come to the bird feeder just outside the window. There are two large and very comfortable bedrooms upstairs and a cozy den where we watched Netflix movies after dinner out at one of Hudson's great restaurants. There are three clean and well designed bathrooms in the house. There is parking right on the street, because this house is strategically located a few streets away from busy Warren Street, where the shops and restaurants are located. That also meant it was quiet at night, a real treat for these big-city dwellers. During the day, we enjoyed strolling through Hudson and visiting its many stores and art galleries. We also took an excursion to nearby Chatham for more shopping and to meet friends. Overall, a great stay. We will return here!"

  • Absolutly Beautiful

"Our extended family of 21 stayed here 2 nights in Sept for a wedding. We couldn’t have been happier with this house. There was plenty of room for everyone, the views were incredible and everything was perfect. Everyone loved the house and Ernie, the owner, was wonderful. We would definitely rent this house again."

  • Private, serene, well kept

"Excellent views, very quiet and private - well spaced from neighbors. Property was well maintained and interior was very attractive, though the furnishing were a bit odd, mis-matched, with some in poor repair. The house was warm and not drafty, important for a winter stay - especially since the home had many large windows. The owner was very conscientious with regard to the quality of our stay and very helpful throughout our stay. We were pleasantly surprised with the speed and capacity of the internet service. TV service was good but TVs were old and of poor quality with main DVD player not working properly with the TV; since we had laptops this wasn't a big deal but could be for others. A well-maintained hot-tub was a real plus. The property was reasonably priced and a very good value."
