  • Better than a resort!

"We stayed here rather than a resort because we didn't want to deal with tons of people. And it was wonderful! We, my husband and I, my brother's family, and my other brother and his wife, came for our niece's wedding. We are all from out of state. One of my sister-in-laws is a travel agent. And all she kept saying the whole time was, "OMG this is so high end!" She was commenting on the shampoo, the food in the fridge, the towels, the sheets, the mattresses, the vacuum, etc.." I just kept laughing because she didn't expect to find so many amenities in a VRBO. My husband is an amateur photographer and he spent his down time photographing all the yard art, mountain shots, sunsets, house decorations, and the patio collections. It is a very extensive and eclectic collection of art and antiques in the house and on the property. It rained most of the time we were there, but that did not stop my nephews, brothers, and my husband from using the pool. And my sister-in-laws really loved the hot tub. When the sun did come out, we hiked the neighborhood roads because we really liked the area and scenery. It was a wonderful hike uphill all the way to the end of the road. There was much laughter around the kitchen table and much ribbing between the Bros. We had a wonderful time at the wedding as well as the rehearsal dinner which were held 10 to 20 minutes away at commercial resorts. We even went to the Kaleidoscope Festival in Emerson that weekend. We shopped at Bread Alone for bread and the local IGA for a few items needed to make breakfast and lunch for the crew. The kitchen is extremely well appointed with equipment for the gourmet chef. My travel agent Sis-in-law was even more surprised to find a NutriBullet(900?) in the kitchen. One Sis-in-law made her gluten free, organic, vegan pancakes, and the other Sis-in-law made her organic, bee pollen, goji berry, sustainable permaculture smoothie. Sorry people, I just had good old bacon and eggs with Bread Alone toast. Oh, and I had some of the organic butter with the toast compliments of the fridge. It is such a peaceful neighborhood with birds singing woodland songs early in the morning. And the beds are so comfortable, everyone slept late. This home is so comfortable and clean, like visiting grandma's. A place that people live in, not just look at and it has everything. We loved our stay. And since my sister lives in the area, we will be back and stay here again. It really is better than a resort!"

  • Beautiful Family Holiday Experience

"Had a wonderful experience over the holiday. Everything was perfect. The house was very comfortable and impeccably clean! We were delighted by the Christmas Decorations. They seemed to be done with attention to the little details and enthusiasm. We found our way around the kitchen easily (which is important since we all love to cook) and the beds were super comfortable (a detail that many rentals overlook.) We really appreciated getting a good night sleep and on one of the warmer nights with the window open enjoyed the fresh mountain air! The other comment everyone shared was that the local shops were charming and had a broad array of products not always available in small towns. We really enjoyed the food shopping at the little grocery store and a visit to the hardware store for some last minute gift wrap. We have been doing this weekend before Christmas tradition for a couple of years now and have not yet repeated a house but the kids all agree that this was their favorite so if it is available again we would certainly be interested. In fact we may want to try to set something up for a summer gathering."

  • Perfect House for our Family

"This house was exactly as represented in the photos. Very clean, lots of room, well stocked kitchen. Four bedrooms and three bathrooms - perfect for myself and my husband, my son, his wife and our two beautiful granddaughters, and my other son and his wife. Spent a lot of time outdoors on the spacious decks (one in front of house and one along the side of the house). House was not on the main road. Instead it is set back and very private. You feel like you are the only people enjoying the beautiful scenery. Would definitely rent again as it was a pleasure working with Maria."

  • Nice and cozy

"Just as described and pictured. Lauri was very accommodating. Location is unbeatable as it is close to EVERYTHING including , of course, Hunter! Restaurants , shops all with in walking distance. House is cozy and has an old feel for sure . A bit dark and house shows some wear and tear - again it is an OLD house- but it worked for our short stay. Plenty of space ! The lay out worked very well for our crew of 17 ( 3 families with young children + a couple w/ out kids). The price is great too and the 1 night minimum was a huge plus for us as it was just an overnight trip. Would recommend to any large group like ours ( w/ or w/ out kids) wanting proximity to the town and looking for good value no frills place."
