  • Wow! Gorgeous home with stunning views

"We had the most amazing stay at the Shostal's beautiful modern cabin home, located in a secluded little hamlet on Mt. Tremper. The communication with Claude has been great from the beginning, he was clear and detailed. The house was so spacious, airy, super clean, and cozy, with the most charming and tasteful details. The amenities are great, particularly the chef's kitchen, the grand fireplace in the living room, and the sauna. The caretaker, Robin, was extremely helpful and was available for our calls. The mountain views are spectacular and creates a beautiful storybook ambience. We had the best holiday here and will definitely would love to book this place again. PS: Make sure to look up in the guest's water closet in the hallway for a cute surprise. 🐦𙠊"

  • Very cozy!

"We had a wonderful time during the week we stayed at this cabin. Great customer service: There was an unexpected snowstorm, and the property manager Susanna was SO NICE offered to shovel snow for us, which wasn't necessary. It was clean, the bed and couch were comfortable, the shower had great water pressure, there were cozy blankets, the heat worked well. The cabin is beautiful and tucked away on a quiet lane so that our dog could play in the yards and driveway without a leash. The location was fantastic because it felt like getting away from the city but we were also close enough to Woodstock that we could easily run in for a yoga class, dinner, or grocery shopping. I would totally recommend this — the only thing I think could be improved on a little is the kitchen. Granted I'm a super avid cook bc I write about cooking for a living, but I think that a couple of the kitchen appliances and tools could use an update, like the toaster oven and the cookware and bakeware. Also I'm not sure if this was in the write-up, it probably was and we just didn't notice, but note that there is no full-sized oven, only the toaster oven, and the electric range only has two burners, but they totally work. We cooked many nights and it was just fine. Thanks again!!!"

  • Ideal hideaway

"Karyn's house was the perfect setting for five quiet and relaxing days and to ring in the new year. We were lucky to have snow which made the views of the woods even more lovely. We loved the sauna, the wood burning stove, the well-appointed kitchen, and Karyn's varied music collection! The location is great for accessing both Woodstock and Phoenicia. Would highly recommend and hope to return in summer to take advantage of the screened in porch and upstairs deck!"

  • Spacious house with open design and breathtaking views

"Our experience with this house, from the time of booking to our departure, was outstanding. The house is just as seen in the photos, with quality furnishings, simple and clean décor, and lots of open space. You get a great view of the mountains from practically every room in the house (and there are plenty of windows)! It was very easy to settle in and feel right at home quickly. the fact that the house was so clean was a huge plus! We were two adults and two young kids, so obviously didn't utilize all the space/rooms, but were still able to enjoy all aspects of the house, including the pool table on the ground floor. There is a flat front lawn, which was great for the kids to play on, but the wooded and sloped back yard was also fun for the kids to explore. Given the house is situated higher up in the mountain, it is nicely secluded and peaceful. Much like other guests who have stayed here, we are very much looking forward to returning one day."
