  • Would highly recommend

"Very clean, well organized. Plenty of room. Close to the lake. Our kids loved the hammock. Fire pit and gazebo are great too. Would highly recommend."

  • Pre wedding extended family getaway

"We had originally planned on having a private ceremony on the beach but postponed our wedding to accomidate more family members. We still rented this house for a big pre wedding family vacation. Grandparents on both sides sister, brother the two of us and our three kids 6,8 and 7 months. This house suited our every need!! It was plenty big that games could be going in one room while papa slept in another. They yard was also amazing for the kids and was a great backdrop for some family photos. The huge driveway and basketball hoop was a hit too!!! We brought bikes and found plenty of great bikepaths!! The kitchen is fully stocked with gadgets, dishes and cookware. It was great to grocery shop locally and prepare large meals at the house for everyone. The beach was easy to get to from the front yard and about a 10 minute walk is a big sandy beach where we spent lots of time body surfing and hunting beach glass. We had an absolute magical time and would love to return as a family again!!!!"

  • Lovely; as advertised; bathroom FYI

"Our intergenerational trip worked well in this large, charming country home, chosen for size & proximity to Lily Dale. Note there is one full bath including shower on the second floor. The other full bath is off the kitchen, tub only, no shower. As a result all 7 of us used one shower upstairs. Worked out fine. Many window a/c units in the home, including the bedrooms, that were quite loud. Overall a good stay, as expected. We would gladly stay again."

  • Beautiful, quiet retreat

"I so enjoyed my 5 day solo retreat at Jim & Carol's place. With Lake Erie in the backyard I was in heaven! The home is very clean, comfortable, spacious and encourages snuggling up on the couch and gazing out at the lake. (I was there in Dec-Jan.) It's located close to lots of great places: rails-to-trails hiking, Lake Erie State Park and restaurants. Yet I never left the place during my entire retreat. There was so much beauty there, with relative easy access to walks on the beach. (It takes a few minutes to walk down a trail to the beach below - the house is located on a bluff above the water.) Jim & Carol were very welcoming and kind. I enjoyed my conversations with them and their invitation to join them out by a campfire one night. I imagine this place is even more heavenly in the summer when swimming is possible and there is more sun than snow! Thank you, Jim & Carol, for your generosity and hospitality! (The description in VRBO is accurate re. location, layout, amenities, etc. Jim & Carol's house is right next door and there are neighbors very close on the other side, too. This place is nestled in a small lakeside community that during this winter season was very quiet.)"
