  • A dream house on the lake

"My family had a 4th of July reunion. Staying at the house there were 9 of us from 6 months to 77 years old. All of the beds and bedding were comfortable and in good condition as were the bathrooms. The caretaker was always available by phone whenever we had a question of any kind. We never felt cramped or crowded. The kitchen was large enough for comfortable family meals many of which we cooked in the kitchen or on the grill. Having two TVs was a nice extra. The indoor pool was perfect for the small children, ages 6 months, 4 and 6 as the lake was a bit challenging for them. But the heated pool was warm and welcoming. We spent a lot of time on the deck in the hot tub and on the dock, watching those of us who were paddle boarding or kayaking, which we rented locally. We also used the canoe provided. Some of the group went for hikes. We took advantage of the improving number of restaurants in Canandaigua, Simply Crepes is nice as is Nolan's. The patio restaurant at the Inn on the Lake was a great place for a large party. On the 4th, my entire family came to celebrate. We had plenty of room to entertain all my sisters and their children. Again people could be inside, outside on the deck, in the pool, in the lake, so many ways to relax. Before we traveled to NY I asked the owner if there were any restrictions, he said "Just treat it like your own home." We tried to do so and to be sure it felt just like that ---only better because we were on Canandaigua Lake."

  • Lovely family gathering

"What a great spot for our families to meet! With 6 adults and 4 young kids (Ages 1,2,5 &5), we were so thrilled with all that this house had to offer us during our three days there. There were plenty of toys/puzzles/games for the kids, and it was well set up for cooking big meals while enjoying the views of the lake. The kids loved the bunk bed set up in the downstairs bedroom. There were plenty of local farm stands on our drive to the house, and great local wine. We went to Naples for the Grape Festival, which was busy, but fun, but really - the house itself was where we wanted to be. Our kids enjoyed rolling down the hill in the backyard, going for row boat rides, swinging on the hammock by the beach, and throwing rocks into the water. Although it was a bit cold for swimming, we let the kids romp around in the water for a while, as the beach had a nice shallow entry. The big kids took long walks along the road, and cycled the local, but hilly roads. It was really perfect. Just remember to bring your own towels :) - I missed that detail, but fortunately Mark was gracious enough to lend us some. We hope to come back in the future!"

  • Nice condo

"It was a very pleasant stay. The condo is clean and nicely decorated. View from balcony is gorgeous. It was so relaxing to watch sunrise with a cup of joe in your hand. You can walk down to the marina from the staircase by the parking lot. The place is so cozy, we ended up cooking a lot in order to spend more time inside the apartment. The place is good for summer and winter as you will find activities all year round."
