  • Absolutely perfect place to escape

"I took my wife here for her 30th birthday and was blown away by the quality of the home and the how responsive Julie was to my inquiries. She was very knowledgeable of the area and I never felt out of touch. Getting to, and accessing, the property was very easy. Everywhere we went seemed to be no further than 15 minutes away which was perfect. However, driving was great as there is so many sites to see while driving around the Finger Lakes region. Words cannot describe the views from the back patio, and the only other time I have seen stars of that caliber was in the Manistee National Forest along Lake Michigan - ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. You will not see a single soul while staying at the house which was fantastic. We never ate out for dinner as we wanted to grill and eat while watching the sunsets every night. The only item I would like to mention, not with a negative connotation but rather so others can be aware/prepared, is that this place sits on a large amount of acreage with very little disturbance. That being said (and maybe it was just the time of year), but the yellow jackets tended to overtake the back patio at particular times of the day so any food or drinks would attract them. We were able to manage this by placing a beer bottle with an inch of beer on one corner of the patio and sitting on the opposite side. They were not aggressive by any means - just more of an annoyance is all. I believe my in-laws are already planning a trip to stay here from the photos we showed them and I will definitely be back as we only scratched the surface of all the hikes/sites/wineries/breweries etc (we stayed for 5 days). Thank you for everything, Julie!"

  • Perfect way to ring in 2017!

"Carolyn's place is just the dog friendly get away we needed. 2 couples shared this home with their 4 dogs. The configuration of the home was quite perfect for this scenario, as our 10 month old mastiff puppy needed to have some down time. The Ithaca Dog Park is just a few minutes away, and one of the best parks we have ever taken the pups to. Wish we had something like that in CT! For the humans, lots of awesome places to eat and wineries and cider houses to taste. Highly recommend going to the cafe at Americana winery, we went twice - it was THAT good. The house was perfection, the view was amazing and if you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle, the snowy driveway isn't an issue. Highly recommend staying here! Thank you so much."

  • Romance, Charm and Privacy!

"From the very moment you open the door to this beautiful home, you can't help but feel pampered by it's beautifully decorated, well appointed decor. The living room is spacious with comfortable seating. There is also a cozy gas stove that makes a chilly evening just perfect watching the fire. The kitchen has everything you need from making a gourmet meal to a perfect cup of coffee. Your nights will be restful whether you are in the master bedroom with it's lovely sitting area, or upstairs with your private den. Both rooms have memory foam mattresses and high quality bedding. The bathrooms have plenty of space to store your toiletries along with soft, fluffy towels. The entire cottage is spotlessly clean and well maintained. The location is ideal for exploring Ithaca and it's surrounding towns, beautiful lakes, gorges and waterfalls. On a rainy day, visiting the wineries is a fun thing to do. Ithaca offers many great restaurants. We had wonderful meals every night! The owner was prompt, friendly and helpful. Access to the cottage was easy and well organized. Our deposit was refunded quickly. We hope to return during the summer months."
