  • Romance, Charm and Privacy!

"From the very moment you open the door to this beautiful home, you can't help but feel pampered by it's beautifully decorated, well appointed decor. The living room is spacious with comfortable seating. There is also a cozy gas stove that makes a chilly evening just perfect watching the fire. The kitchen has everything you need from making a gourmet meal to a perfect cup of coffee. Your nights will be restful whether you are in the master bedroom with it's lovely sitting area, or upstairs with your private den. Both rooms have memory foam mattresses and high quality bedding. The bathrooms have plenty of space to store your toiletries along with soft, fluffy towels. The entire cottage is spotlessly clean and well maintained. The location is ideal for exploring Ithaca and it's surrounding towns, beautiful lakes, gorges and waterfalls. On a rainy day, visiting the wineries is a fun thing to do. Ithaca offers many great restaurants. We had wonderful meals every night! The owner was prompt, friendly and helpful. Access to the cottage was easy and well organized. Our deposit was refunded quickly. We hope to return during the summer months."

  • Grandma's House is Amazing!

"My husband and I stayed at this well appointed, very comfortable, welcoming home just outside of Ithaca for a week in late October. Everything was amazing! We loved the large comfy sectional with big flat screen TV to watch movies in the evenings, just like home. The kitchen had everything we could want, including some extras no other home away has ever offered us, all so clean and new, as was the rest of the house. Beds had good mattresses and linens, lots of towels and extras for us. The old world charm was still in the beautifully remodeled home, and the heat was even and quiet, wifi worked perfectly, bathrooms and kitchen all very modern. Lots of parking off the street and expansive grounds. We have stayed in many home away rentals all over the world and this is surely one of the most comfortable, clean, clutter free and welcoming homes we've stayed at. Richard was very responsive to all my queries and a joy to work with. Highly recommend this home."

  • Family Celebration

"Our family originally arrived in Ithaca in 1816, but the family has scattered all over the U.S. For the 200th celebration of family still being in the Ithaca area, and wanting to celebrate the family patriarch's 90th birthday we wanted a place that all could stay under the same roof. We started every morning and finished every evening in the sun room, where family shared stories and lots of laughter, and ate food prepared by various family members, especially Carol (thank you Carol!). Every night we'd sit on the deck above the front porch and watch the colors of the sky as the sun set and Ithaca down below light up. One night we watched fireworks from the Yacht Club up the lake. During the days we went on various adventures including a walk and picnic lunch at Buttermilk Falls, going to Cornell University and researching family in the Rare Books & Manuscript library section as well as at the History Center, had ice cream at the Cornell Dairy, and of course at Purity Ice Cream, walked the Cascadilla gorge, ate dinner at Joe's Restaurant the first night and near the end of our stay ate at Taughannock Farms Inn overlooking Cayuga Lake and then met a tour boat at the park for an evening ride to see the old family cottage, one of the first ones built on the lake. There were many activities undertaken, and all were made much more special having a central place to house the 16 or so family members that included 4 generations of family! We had the Cayuga Chimes singing group for the birthday celebration and were able to arrange extra parking for the additional visitors at the Elk's Club next door. It was a wonderful, and truly magical experience made even more special having the whole house to ourselves. We fully enjoyed the atmosphere of an older home with many nice amenities and beautiful bedrooms overlooking Cayuga Lake."
