  • Perfect for a family reunion!

"This property is a real gem and the owner, Jamie, was very accommodating. Our stay included 5 adults and 2 adult dogs who came from NC, IL, and NY to spend time together during the holidays. The home was very clean, with an inviting, open floor plan on the main floor. The updated, gorgeous kitchen, living room, and dining area were all over-sized so I can easily see 14 people being comfortable there. We spent many hours cooking (the kitchen was well stocked with spices!), playing games at the table, reading, and enjoying wine we bought at a couple of Seneca Lake wineries (only 20 minutes away). The hot tub at night, with snow softly falling, was a real treat. I highly recommend this property and its customer-centric owner."

  • Just What We Wanted

"Our stay at Cayuga Sunrise was just what we were hoping for. The 5 bedrooms and floor plan accommodated our family of 6 adults and 2 children under the age of 7 easily. The closed in front porch was great "bonus" space where adults and kids played games, put puzzles together, etc. The hard wood/laminate flooring throughout the house and window A/C units gave our family members with strong allergies a chance recover from the outdoors. And, although a pet friendly rental, no one had allergy troubles sitting on the living room couch. We called Chris a couple of different times to ask questions about the area and the pool. She responded quickly and cheerfully with helpful answers. The gazebo down by the water is a beautiful place to sit by the lake and we used the waterfront access daily to launch our canoe and the two kayaks we rented from Puddledockers in Ithaca (Bring good water shoes. The rocks are rocky!). The pool area was perfect. We could swim with the kids while getting dinner ready on the grill and then transition quickly from pool to dinner in the outdoor sitting/eating areas. The kitchen was immaculate and had more than enough dishes, pots, pans, utensils, etc. to get the kid's mac & cheese made while also grilling steaks and serving wine to adults. The dishwasher worked hard for us! The area was great for both kids and adults. Super children's parks, restaurants, groceries, etc. within 5 to 40 minutes drive depending on your mood. In sum, thanks Chris for organizing a great stay for us. It was a treat to stay in a unique, original lake house with such wonderful character while also enjoying great modern amenities like cable TV, a microwave and a pool!"

  • Perfect & Peaceful

"Wow! What a perfect long weekend at Seneca Solitude! It was even better than the pictures. You feel like you are literally on the lake, and the sound of the lake waves crashing to the shore is the most peaceful and beautiful sound. The house is perfectly located to hit great wineries, spend time at the local brewery, or head into town. We enjoyed a great hike in Watkins Glen as well. This house is perfect for couples or families. Nothing but great things to say and I can't wait to go back! Thank you!"
