  • Perfect size and location

"The online pictures don't do this place justice. It was roomy and clean. I loved the convenience of not having to bring towels or bedding. The fenced in yard up top was great for the dog and the lower yard set up also made it easy to contain our furry family members. You'll have to bring all of your own food, including spices and condiments. We bought replacement paper towels, toilet paper and laundry soap and also left some cleaner and zip lock bags there. Other than these and any additional games (they already have some there), personal items, life jackets for adults, they have just about everything else you should need. The canoe and kayaks are a nice way to explore the lake, which is very large and low on traffic. One note regarding safety: there is a non obvious opening to the left of the gate to go down the stairs to the lake, which my dog found and fell partially down the hill...it could have just as easily happened to a small child. We put a cooler there to block it, after we discovered this. Luckily the pooch ended up ok. All in all, this is a fantastic property and I would definitely recommend it and stay here again."

  • Gorgeous waterfront vacation spot!

"My boyfriend and I shared our vacation with friends (2 other couples) and we all agreed that it was way more beautiful in person....the pictures on VRBO do it no justice! Plenty of room for everyone to "spread out" and yet cozy areas here and there to enjoy each other's company. We loved using the large outdoor table for our dinner every night and the seating area down by the firepit overlooking the water was perfect for evening conversation and cocktails! I think everyone's favorite part was the wide open view from the living room, overlooking Seneca Lake...simply breathtaking. And every night the sunset was different, but always spectacular. The week flew by quickly, we were sad to leave, but we would definitely like to make plans to come back again. Thank you, Doris and Paul, for sharing your amazing home with us! • A lovely property with great facilities and space

"We booked this for a vacation for our extended family, and were looking specifically for somewhere near a lake but not necessarily right on the water. it worked out brilliantly. Christine the owner was kind, helpful, polite and very responsive. We had eight adults, in four couples, and a baby with us and there was plenty of space and beds for everyone. The house officially takes 20+ people and it was very comfortable for 9, with two sitting rooms, a dining room, plenty of outdoor furniture, and four large double bedrooms, a smaller double, and a single. There was a cot for the baby, enormous amounts of bedding and towels available, and plenty of comfortable places to sit. The kitchen was very well stocked with pots, pans and knives, the oven was easy to use, and it was well-kept and clean. Because the house can be used for large groups, there were two fridge-freezers which was great as well as a barbecue on the patio. It was easy to cook for large groups in the spacious kitchen and there was a dishwasher, meaning that the cleaning up was pretty easy. As had a 14 month old child with us, we wanted to make sure he'd be safe outside and that we would all be able to enjoy the water. The garden is huge - a long rolling lawn with a basketball hoop, benches and firepit. There's a short walk through a neighboring garden to get to the private dock and that proved ideal. The house has a pair of canoes and paddles, which we took out on the lake several times. Owasco Lake itself has quite a stony shore, but it was still possible to swim off the dock provided you wore waterproof shoes (recommended!). There's a number of very good restaurants in Auburn - we particularly liked Moro's Table (fancy & French), Lasca's (family friendly, excellent Italian trattoria), and Green Shutters (diner-style restaurant with outdoor seating and lots of ice cream choices). The Long Point State Park near the picturesque town of Aurora on Cayuga Lake and the pretty town of Skaneateles both offered good days out. We would highly recommend this place for any family or large group looking for a comfortable, clean, pleasant place to stay in the Finger Lakes. It was lovely."

  • warm welcome

"Stayed in this 4 bedroom home in a quiet neighborhood in Geneva and thoroughly enjoyed it. Lots of room in the TV from, living room with fire place, and 3 big and 1 small bedroom. The master bedroom is huge. There are 1.5 bathrooms so you have to share but the house is very warm and roomy, and it is well stocked with spices, utensils, dishes, etc if you plan to cook."
