  • Perfect location; excellent hosts!

"At the risk of sounding too much like Goldilocks, this property is just right! It's not too rustic and not too modern, offering modern conveniences like a microwave and internet but with an old fashioned feel. It's not too far from town, but it's not too close either. It's nice to be away from hustle and bustle while still having grocery stores and restaurants close by. The hosts are friendly and helpful, but they also let guests enjoy their time without interruptions. Three generations of us stayed at this cottage and all of us enjoyed it! We walked up the lane to enjoy a spectacular view of the surrounding area, picked berries, relaxed on the front porch and marveled at the view, greeted the mail boat from the dock, played in the lake, and made fantastic memories. I really cannot say enough about what Pinewood Cottage offers families. Skaneateles Lake is a lovely destination, and there's no place we'd rather stay than Pinewood Cottage."

  • My wife and I had a very relaxing enjoyable vacation

"What a great place. My wife and I stayed here on a Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday night. It was very quiet and peaceful. The lake was beautiful and a very warm 83 degrees. Almost everything you would needed was provided in the camper. Firewood, kayaks, floating lounges, and life vests were provided as well. The bedroom and bath were a little cramped, but that is to be expected staying in a camper. The only time we were inside was when we were sleeping anyways. The radio in the camper has options for inside and outside speakers so you can leave your portable radio at home. We enjoyed sitting under the awning, listening to music, and watching the boats pass by on the lake. We cooked all of our meals on the provided gas grill. Every night shortly before sunset we would start a small camp fire, watch the sunset, and look at the stars. We had planned on going to a few wineries and doing some sightseeing. That never happened. We talked about venturing out one afternoon, but couldn't bring ourselves to leave our little piece of paradise on Honoco road. Everyone was very friendly and waved as they slowly passed by on the single lane lake road. For what you would typically pay for a boring hotel room, you can stay right on Cayuga lake with your own private dock, camper, and patio. Its a no brainer. We plan on telling our friends about this place and recommending it highly."

  • Great to hang out at the beach

"Great to hang out at the beach and use all of the watercraft (kayaks, paddle boards, flotations, rowboat, sailboat). The children had a great time whether on the beach and in the water, or at the house with the games and game room. A relaxing vacation."

  • A small mansion on the lake

"Just came back from a great week at Owasco Lake. The house is huge. There was plenty of room for our party of 4 adults and 4 kids. The fact that this house is directly on the lake is a huge plus as it offers a perfect opportunity to use the lake for both swimming and kayaking. Bring water shoes as there are pebbles when entering the lake. The “backyard” is enormous and kids spent a lot of time playing all kinds of games there. A wine cooler in the kitchen was a pleasant surprise as the area offers pretty decent Rieslings. We cooked most of the dinners but there is a couple of very nice restaurants in both Auburn and Skaneateles. The owners of the house replied super-fast to all our questions. Highly recommend this house."
