  • Wonderful location great value

"We were pleasantly surprised! We have rented several homes in wine country over the years. Grace's rental was spacious, extremely clean and perfectly located. We had a great time!"

  • Best vacation!

"Bottom line: Most relaxing vacation we've had in a long time. The initial impression when you walk in, it's better than the photos. The cottage has very comfortable seating inside, but our favorite place was the screened-in porch. There are lots of options in the area for adventures - hiking, cycling (it can get hilly)(the bike shop in Geneva is helpful), wineries, etc., but we were sometimes torn between wanting to go out and do things, or just stay on the porch or down by the water to read and relax. Luckily we had one rainy day for that. What I didn't expect, since the cottage is on the west side of the lake, were the spectacular sunsets, with the sun setting behind us and hitting the clouds in the east. Another big plus: it was easy to cook - the kitchen has good pots and pans, etc., and there are good grocery stores and local produce options nearby. There is some road noise from Rt. 14, as it is pretty close, but it's quiet at night, and the lake, because it's so big, is really quiet. As for the train, the first time I heard it at night, I thought I was being transported in the Polar Express! We loved to hear the train! One suggestion: if you're just a couple, like us, don't forget to take twin bed sheets so that you have the option of sleeping on the porch. We've stayed in many vacation rentals over the years, and this was unusual in that: there was good light for reading; comfortable chairs and sofa for reading/watching tv; good equipment in the kitchen; lots of table space for eating; easy access to the water (no long, steep flight of stairs!). Becky and Don are gracious hosts who truly want you to be comfortable, and we definitely were."

  • Great value

"The cottage was in a great location, convenient to wineries on both Seneca and Keuka Lakes and other attractions, and the views of Keuka lake from the enclosed porch were beautiful. It was also spotlessly clean and very well stocked with everything you would need to feel at home. Considering the number of beds, bedrooms and bathrooms, it was an excellent value for the nightly cost. I would definitely book another stay here when I'm in the area, and would recommend it to anyone else looking for a comfortable place to stay in a beautiful setting."
