  • Beautiful old house with charm

"My family went up to celebrate my nephew's birthday. He attends Rochester Institute...a good place to stay if visiting a Rochester student because it is not far. The house is well stocked with everything you need. There were 8 of us and we were comfortable for three nights. Older backs may not be able to do the pull out sofa for too long but very appropriate for younger people. The big porch was wonderful as it overlooks beautiful Keuka Lake. Our weekend was cool so I am looking forward to going back during a warmer time. Parking was a little tight with three cars. If you have more than three ask the owner for recommendations. The owner is very accommodating. And I felt that the prices were much more reasonable than the other rentals. There is much to do and see, especially if you like wine. I noticed that there are more breweries in the area now. We had a great time!"

  • Amazing Lake Views

"We had an amazing time at It Shore Is Nice. Everything was super clean when we arrived. The owners were very accessible and answered all questions. The kitchen was small but set up nicely for cooking and we loved the outdoor grill and table. It was the perfect size for our family of four, with kids 7 and 10 years old. The kids loved looking for beach glass on the beach, jumping off the dock, swimming for hours and taking kayak rides. Their favorite game was playing pirates in the canoe, which fit all four of us. Parents loved being able to watch kids from the comfort of the two decks and watching the amazing views. The house is on a quiet street that was perfect to run or walk on and even had a small farmette that sold fresh veggies and herbs. Nearby restaurants: the Switz was ok food, but the service was warm and friendly; Village Tavern in Hammondsport had a great wine flight; there's a great candy shop in Penn Yan on the main drag; our favorite was Olney Place, right up the street - we had great sandwiches and it became our go to place for quick groceries and a great local beer selection. Activities: we rented a pontoon boat from Morgan Marina in Penn Yan which was awesome - the kids loved the tube; Watkins Glen and a trip to Lodi point on Senaca lake to look for more beach glass; Ithaca was great - the Museum of the Earth was fascinating and the downtown is sweet; our favorite little trip was to Eggleston Glen, within walking distance of the cottage. We hiked upstream to a very small but impressive waterfall and the kids loved exploring the whole time. Mostly we loved relaxing and hanging out on the dock and in the water. This was the perfect place for us - quiet, beautiful and close to lots of activities, if we felt like it."

  • Family Reunion

"Absolutely Fantastic!! We had 3 different families meet at this incredible home for a reunion. It had everything you could think of and more! Huge kitchen connected to large family room. A lot of fun things to do inside (games, movies, ect.) and hours of fun outside using their kayaks, canoes, swim platform and 3 docks! We had 3 couples with a total of 8 children and there was still room left over for more!! I highly recommend this place !!"
