  • Lovely cottage, great outdoor spaces

"Our family of four loved this property. The cottage is small, but nicely appointed, nicely decorated and the beds are very good. The kitchen has what you need for cooking and has nice light. There are three nice outdoor spaces-the patio for dining, a protected porch w/ rockers for watching the sunset or the rain come across the lake and the lakeside dock. We enjoyed swimming off the dock and eating outside watching the sunset. Great views, nice air flow (although there are AC units on both floors if you want them) and vineyards close by. There's a fire ring on the lakeside and two kayaks available for use. The property management service provides linens (which I love) and had the cottage stocked with toilet paper, paper towels, soaps and a laundry and dishwasher single use soaps upon arrival-small things, but appreciated not having to run out and get those basics. Closest grocery store is in Ovid, 10 min away, many vineyards within 10-15 minutes drive, one right down the street. Lovely property, we would definitely stay here again. (Don't miss the hike through the gorge in Watkins Glen park, 30 minutes south-that was stunning.)"

"The Seneca Lake two-story cottage is very well stocked, clean and very nicely decorated. Steps lead to a deck overlooking the Lake. There is a well built pier/dock. It would be helpful to have a ladder from the pier to get into the water for swimming as there is a wooden seawall that is tough to climb over and swim from the shore. It was very hot while we were at the cottage but the window air conditioners and fan do a good job of keeping the place cool. There was a big thunderstorm while we were there, the power went out and the neighbor person came by to see if we had flashlights, etc. It seems like a very nice settled community with neighbors who look out for each other. We had called the owner to request a patio umbrella and one was delivered quickly. There is room for two cars to park easily. Otherwise, it is a bit of a challenge as the access road is quite crowded with boat trailers, etc. There is a train that travels between the house and the main highway. It comes by three times a week, is not particularly noisy but a bit of a surprise. We enjoyed our stay at the cottage and apparently others did also, according to the guest book."

  • clean cottage close to ithaca

"We stayed at this home while dropping our son off at Cornell. It was very close to Ithaca and easy to get into town, as well as the airport. We were a bit disappointed at the kitchenette, as we were sure that the photos we had viewed upon renting showed a full kitchen. There are several properties available, so it is important to make sure you are reviewing the correct photos/home. The rooms were spacious as were the bathrooms, and the home was very clean. We did not feel the beds were particularly comfortable. Maureen was very helpful and happy to help us in every way!"
