  • fun and relaxation-a place for memory making

"Overlook cottage quickly won our hearts and became our go-to vacation spot for 6 years now!! LOVE the simple, quiet effect this place has on my family! The porch is wonderful during warm weather as well as rainstorms, like a secret hidden tree house. Lake Seneca itself is just serene! So much to do and see in the whole area as well but if your like us, your stay mostly happens at the lake!!"

  • Amazing family vacation

"I rarely do reviews, but I had such an amazing time I felt compelled to share. This cottage is small but very functional and enough space for 6 people. We had 4 adults and 2 children. Everything within the cottage is updated and thoughtfully placed. We were comfortable inside the cottage, but almost any time not sleeping or exploring the area was spent outdoors in the spacious deck, fire-pit by the water, or on the dock. Kayaks, paddle boat and row boats were available for use - all in excellent shape. We rented pontoon boats few of the days from Roy's Marina and were able to bring it down to the dock (be aware, it does take a decent amount of time to get it here though) for the day. Lake is gorgeous and the views from the deck/cottage/dock are priceless. Ed is a hands-on and helpful host with excellent communication before/during/after the trip. My favorite winery (not really a vineyard) was Domaine Leseurre - on Keuka lake, about 30min drive. A rather new place but I think it will become BIG. Fox Run had some good value-wines too."

  • Great place for a "girls'" weekend!

"My four friends and I stayed here this past weekend. The house was just right for our needs - comfortable, especially the living room which had a really comfy couch and recliner chair. It was too chilly to make use of the deck, but beautiful to look at - and must be really nice during warm weather. Bathrooms were very clean. Beds were comfortable. Trash had been taken out prior to our stay, so that wasn't an issue. There were some bees getting into one of the back bedrooms, and we couldn't figure out how. Luckily there was a can of bee/wasp spray which we made use of. I'd say we killed 10-12 over the weekend. The kitchen had everything we needed in terms of pots, pans, cutlery, utensils, etc. The light over the sink was out, which made it a bit dark in there when we were preparing food. BTW, wifi instructions are framed and on the wall in the living room. I'm not sure everyone would know right away to look on the wall for this information. The location is definitely good for places in the area to visit."
