  • Perfect location; excellent hosts!

"At the risk of sounding too much like Goldilocks, this property is just right! It's not too rustic and not too modern, offering modern conveniences like a microwave and internet but with an old fashioned feel. It's not too far from town, but it's not too close either. It's nice to be away from hustle and bustle while still having grocery stores and restaurants close by. The hosts are friendly and helpful, but they also let guests enjoy their time without interruptions. Three generations of us stayed at this cottage and all of us enjoyed it! We walked up the lane to enjoy a spectacular view of the surrounding area, picked berries, relaxed on the front porch and marveled at the view, greeted the mail boat from the dock, played in the lake, and made fantastic memories. I really cannot say enough about what Pinewood Cottage offers families. Skaneateles Lake is a lovely destination, and there's no place we'd rather stay than Pinewood Cottage."

  • Cozy cottage on a beautiful lake

"First time staying at this cute and cozy cottage. We loved it!! The lake is literally 10 steps away and the deck over the boathouse is fantastic! We were able to bring our dog who loves learning to swim and we enjoyed taking the kayaks across the lake. It was a relaxing and wonderful week at Skaneateles Lake!! Thank you! Tips for future guests: There is no dishwasher-we wished we had brought paper plates, cups, utensils, etc There are a lot of spiders The temperature fluctuates greatly-we used the AC and the fireplace during the week we were there"

  • Perfect home for a perfect Easter weekend.

"I do not use the word perfect too often. I reserve the word for truly spectacular occurrences. Staying at Becher Farms was just that, a truly spectacular experience. My large extended family of 10 people (from ages 12 to 90!) wanted to take advantage of the long Easter weekend, and our overall goal was to relax and enjoy ourselves. The house is well appointed and provide everyone with enough to room to explore and escape alone or in groups. The kitchen was large and spacious and provided all of the necessary cooking utensils we needed to host an Easter luncheon after church. Sandy and George were readily available to us and provided top notch customer service. There were plenty of beds and bathrooms and we never felt that we were "on top of each other". We had fun exploring the grounds and enjoyed daily hikes down to the lake. In the evenings, we enjoyed their vast collection of books and movies. We were also able to bring our yellow lab Max and had fun watching him run all over the farm and swim in the lake. If you're thinking about renting, don't think twice. You wont regret it! Even though I'm already starting to regret having to possibly share this home with other vacationers! VT & JF"

  • Highly recommend!

"We rented this house for 3 nights for a wedding event & it was perfect for a family of 6! Felt right at home. Everything you needed was right there. Sofa let out into queen size bed. King bed & queen bed upstairs. Large parking in back. Very clean & roomy. Had coffee maker & was able to have my coffee when I got up, which is a big plus for me. When staying in a motel, most of the time, you have to get dressed & go get your coffee, rather than have your coffee while getting dressed. Convenient to everything downtown. Would love to go back when not on a tight schedule to explore the lovely town of Skaneateles, NY."
