  • Fantastic!!

"My wife and i spent a week here and could not have been happier. The setting is wonderful, with unlimited views of Lake Ontario. The sunsets are brilliant over the lake. Sitting outside on the deck or along the lake was so peaceful. The two trees along the lake's edge are PERFECT for a hammock! Rochester is not far away, and both Letchworth State Park and Niagara Falls are an easy drive. We also really enjoyed the closest town, Hilton, a beautiful small town with everything you need! In Hilton, I highly recommend Abbott's ice cream and Jose Joe's, a great place for a burrito or a garbage plate (a local thing - it was great!)! Inside the house is immaculate. Very comfortable and well appointed. The kitchen has very nice appliances and all the essentials. The bathrooms are very nice and the bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable. The living room is spacious and very comfortable with cable TV. The WIFI worked great also. We had a fantastic stay. You will not b disappointed!"

  • A little piece of paradise

"Having grown up in nearby Hammondsport, it was just natural to rent a cottage on Keuka Lake for our out of town guests. The Red Doors was nothing short of perfect for our needs. The cottage was up-to-date with all the modern amenities that you would ever need while holding onto the charm that goes along with lake living. From the spacious living quarters, the well equipped kitchen, the views of the Bluff from nearly every window in the house, the beachfront and dock, comfy lakeside chairs, fire pit, kayaks, and on and on, the Red Doors was like a little piece of paradise. One could tell that the owner had spent many a summer at the lake as she provided everything that would make your stay comfortable as well as memorable. The location was great - right in the middle of Wine Country. Area restaurants were either a short walk or a short drive away. There was plenty to do - or not do - but we always made it back to the lake for the most spectacular sunsets you can find anywhere! Our guests left feeling more relaxed than they had felt in a very long time. It was truly a wonderful vacation and many, many memories were made that will last a lifetime. We highly recommend the Red Doors!"

  • very nice location, charming house right on the lake

"I had rented this cottage for 8 days, i only stayed for 2 days due to a medical emergency. The two days i stayed were awesome. The description was spot on and the cottage was very clean. The tv and internet service were excellent. Would stay again for sure."

  • Sweet Spot on the Lake

"We first met the owner two summers ago, when, due to a booking glitch, we stayed at a cottage down the road. (Our comments on that experience, "Above and Beyond", are among the reviews here). We are so glad that we had the opportunity to stay this year at Sue's sweet hideaway, our original choice. It was perfect for us (two healthy and active seniors...the steps were a great workout). We heartily concur with all the previous rave reviews. Our host was wonderful, gracious and accommodating. We hope to return to this hideaway many more times. Thanks, Sue!"
