  • Charming house with amazing views

"I will agree with another reviewer that the pictures of this home do not do it justice. The house itself is charming, comfortable, well-maintained and equipped, and very clean. Everything is recently remodeled and/or well-kept. Hammondsport is a very quaint town, and we took advantage of the proximity to many fantastic wineries and breweries (Do not miss Point of the Bluff Vineyards and Keuka Brewing Company!). What we enjoyed most, however, was being mere steps from the lake. We made great use of the kayaks, but spent the majority of our hours just sitting on the patio, watching the lake. So relaxing! (And our dog loved it too :-)"

  • Lake front home

"We enjoyed our stay in this lovely, old, centrally-located home with a beautiful view of Keuka Lake. It was well-equipped & had plenty of space. We enjoyed the views as we had family game nights at the large inside table overlooking the lake. The Adirondack chairs on the deck allowed for comfortable and relaxing seating in the mornings and while watching the sunsets in the evenings. Really wish that canoes or kayaks were available with the rental... we didn't have perfect weather until our last full day so we didn't want to rent kayaks for three days to be delivered, but it would have been wonderful to have them available (or a row-boat to take out fishing.). There was no action from the dock at our personal beach across the road as far as fishing and we couldn't figure out how to access the cove that is supposed to be 5-6 houses south that is mentioned in the house notes. It was a great base for all the activities we enjoyed: Glass blowing in Corning, hiking the BREATHTAKING Watkins Glen, visiting several wineries, and even a drive up to Sodus Bay on Lake Ontario to see the lighthouse. The price during the week was very reasonable for the spacious home and beautiful view. A king-size bed in the Master, watercraft availability, & direct access to the lake without having to cross the road and go down the path would make it a 5 star, but for the price, we would still recommend this home on the water!"

  • A lovely property with great facilities and space

"We booked this for a vacation for our extended family, and were looking specifically for somewhere near a lake but not necessarily right on the water. it worked out brilliantly. Christine the owner was kind, helpful, polite and very responsive. We had eight adults, in four couples, and a baby with us and there was plenty of space and beds for everyone. The house officially takes 20+ people and it was very comfortable for 9, with two sitting rooms, a dining room, plenty of outdoor furniture, and four large double bedrooms, a smaller double, and a single. There was a cot for the baby, enormous amounts of bedding and towels available, and plenty of comfortable places to sit. The kitchen was very well stocked with pots, pans and knives, the oven was easy to use, and it was well-kept and clean. Because the house can be used for large groups, there were two fridge-freezers which was great as well as a barbecue on the patio. It was easy to cook for large groups in the spacious kitchen and there was a dishwasher, meaning that the cleaning up was pretty easy. As had a 14 month old child with us, we wanted to make sure he'd be safe outside and that we would all be able to enjoy the water. The garden is huge - a long rolling lawn with a basketball hoop, benches and firepit. There's a short walk through a neighboring garden to get to the private dock and that proved ideal. The house has a pair of canoes and paddles, which we took out on the lake several times. Owasco Lake itself has quite a stony shore, but it was still possible to swim off the dock provided you wore waterproof shoes (recommended!). There's a number of very good restaurants in Auburn - we particularly liked Moro's Table (fancy & French), Lasca's (family friendly, excellent Italian trattoria), and Green Shutters (diner-style restaurant with outdoor seating and lots of ice cream choices). The Long Point State Park near the picturesque town of Aurora on Cayuga Lake and the pretty town of Skaneateles both offered good days out. We would highly recommend this place for any family or large group looking for a comfortable, clean, pleasant place to stay in the Finger Lakes. It was lovely."

  • Excellent location. Anemities were great. Beautiful views of the lake and area. Good location.

"We enjoyed our stay and loved sitting out on the deck every morning and evening. Our major concerns was the cleanliness. The rugs in the bathrooms were filthy and smelled. The main rugs were hard to clean with the vacuum provided and it was not emptied, my guess in a long time. Under the cushions of the couches there was dirt. A broom would have been helpful for general clean up. The back section of the bench table was dusty. The dock was adequate for any type of leisure boat and we enjoyed fishing off the dock. Overall we had a great time and enjoyed our stay. Thank you."
