  • Great House

"My family, friends and I all had a great 2 night trip to this house. It was big enough to fit 15 of us. We loved the space, deck, fire pit and especially the game room. We would go back there again."

  • Nice and cozy

"Just as described and pictured. Lauri was very accommodating. Location is unbeatable as it is close to EVERYTHING including , of course, Hunter! Restaurants , shops all with in walking distance. House is cozy and has an old feel for sure . A bit dark and house shows some wear and tear - again it is an OLD house- but it worked for our short stay. Plenty of space ! The lay out worked very well for our crew of 17 ( 3 families with young children + a couple w/ out kids). The price is great too and the 1 night minimum was a huge plus for us as it was just an overnight trip. Would recommend to any large group like ours ( w/ or w/ out kids) wanting proximity to the town and looking for good value no frills place."

  • Perfect perfect perfect!!!

"We expected a lovely home but we were absolutely FLOORED with delight! Hill House is everything we wanted and MORE! Gorgeous, spacious home inside and out. Excellent location near the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival! Lots of special touches, including a "Welcome" bottle of wine and Milano cookies! We loved it so much we hope to rent again next year! Thank you, Tom!!"

  • A beautiful peaceful lake home with all the amenities!

"Our family just completed a week long rental of both the upstairs and downstairs units. The lake is just beautiful, the visiting ducks and chipmunks were delightful and the sense of peace and calm was just what the doctor ordered. While he went out rowing and fishing (he says that this the best fresh water spot he's ever fished -- even caught a chain pickerel!), we bbq'ed on a great new grill; I sat and read and enjoyed the scenery and forgot about everything. The units are spotless and well maintained; having a washer and dryer is a boon - and I'll bet the upstairs fireplace makes for a cozy autumn night! Great for a family or for a couple too. Robert, the owner, could not have been more accommodating and responsive and there's a feeling that he'll be Johnny on the spot if anything needs tending to. Folks who had stayed previously always managed to leave behind spices, coffee filters, dish washing liquid, storage containers so it almost felt like you knew them and wanted to pay it forward. It was probably the best getaway that we've ever had -- and a little over an hour away from home. Pack your bags, hit the supermarket and unwind at Whaley Lake which the owner lovingly has renamed Lake Bliss! We intend to be Lake Bliss recidivists!"
