  • Relaxing and beautiful!

"My fiancé and I were lucky enough to spend four nights at this beautiful place with our dog! It is absolutely magical! The cabin is so comfortable and thoughtfully done. We could hear the creek from our loft bed. The bathroom is clean and spacious. The outdoor shower is incredible, I highly recommend it! The kitchen is stocked with everything you need (utensils, can opener, wine glasses...). Having meals on the deck, surrounded by nature, is truly relaxing. There is also a fire pit and a night sky full of stars. Woodstock is a casual fifteen minute drive away, full of cute shops and great restaurants (Garden Cafe is amazing!). There is plenty of great hiking. Big Pink is also nearby! David and his wife were wonderful, helpful hosts. We felt so much stress melt away while staying here and our dog had the time of his life! It meant so much to us to be able to take our dog with us on vacation. We can't wait to come back, we're already planning our next trip! Thank you, David, for sharing your beautiful, peaceful cabin! -Melanie, Jon and Cass"

  • Gorgeous Property, very comfortable beds and linens - great location!

"We planned a staff strategic planning retreat for 4 adults. The location was ideal as we had one person coming from Boston another from Saratoga and then from NYC. The property is beautiful and although the house is situated close to the road, it felt very private and rural quiet. It is obvious that the owner loves this home and stays there often as the mattresses were very comfortable with lovely bedding, everything was very clean and evidence of a beloved dog dotted the home & property. There is a main house and two guest houses. The 'Library' is very close to the main house without a private bathroom and the sleeping loft is tricky to get to with a low ceiling. The other guest house was an exceptional space with a claw foot tub, mini kitchen and large bright bedroom looking out over a large deck with a view. The mini kitchen and tub are in the same room, but it feels spacious, light and private. The outdoor spaces really make this home exceptional. The main house has a large deck where we gathered and worked since we had great weather. There is an 8-person hot tub that we did not have a chance to use, but are planning to add a day to our 2017 retreat with some down time in mind. The tree swing by the outdoor fire pit added a playful escape. The kitchen is large and well stocked for wine indulgence. We cooked and made due with the electric stove and did have some smoke in the kitchen as the stove top does not have direct ventilation. Challenges for us were that the second bedroom in the main house is only accessible from a ladder from the main floor or by walking through the master bedroom. The master bedroom sits between those two bedrooms so 3 autonomous adults (main house and library) had to negotiate shower times. The 2 adults staying in the main house had to negotiate sleeping arrangements. Yes, we plan to rent this home again. Lovely home on a beautiful site in a great location."

  • Great getaway

"In just 48 hours, we feel refreshed and renewed! The Treehouse is peaceful and pretty, and the host pays special attention to little details that make for a great user experience - i.e., luggage rack, bottled spring water, chairs for the deck, inner tubes for the creek, brownies (yum) upon arrival. On a hot August weekend, the best part for us was access to the clear, cool creek -- great for swimming, tubing and fishing (we did all three). This home is super-clean and very bright and will lift your spirits. Only warning: she means it about the tiny kitchen. It really is small. But, it's very efficiently designed and it is possible to make any meal, as we did."
