  • Comfortable and relaxing house in a beautiful setting

"My family, friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at Shirley's house. It was extremely comfortable and had everything we needed. The view from the deck was fantastic and it was such a great setting for an evening fire. Our stay was only for one night but next we'll have to stay longer."

  • Superb Location!

"My husband, two children (15 and 12) and parents rented this house to celebrate my Mother's 70th birthday. The house is spacious and architecturally interesting. It also has a great feel in that it is not littered with a lot of extraneous stuff, so you don't feel you are intruding into someone's personal space. The converted barn sits on many, many acres and has lovely fields and woods in which to walk and spy deer, woodchucks, and turkeys. There is a great hot tub from which to enjoy the view and a sauna to boot! My kids liked their sleeping loft- complete with foosball table. There is an extensive sound system both inside and outside the house and a comfy TV area to enjoy Sunday football and the Presidential debate. If you are not familiar with Craryville, it is close (10- 15 miles) to a great number of interesting NY farms that raise, among other things, grass fed beef, as well as western Mass towns like Great Barrington and Egremont. The owner was super solicitous (remotely) while we were there to ensure everything was working. He allowed our dog Ruby to join us and was relaxed about both our check in and check out time. The barn has both a wood stove and a fire pit- neither of which we got around to using! I definitely would recommend staying here and plan to come back when time off allows!"

  • Wished I owned a country house as nice as this one!

"My family and I have rented this house for 2 consecutive summers. Terrific location for seeing what the Hudson Valley has to offer. Unfortunately it's hard to leave the property. Hypnotic views, comfortable interiors and a pool that is totally private except for the cows that might come by to say hello."

  • Quiet with a view

"Hilary has a lovely property with wonderful scenery, large windows and patio to enjoy it, and no view of the neighbors. This home is right in the middle of where you want to be and what you want to do. From Poughkeepsie with the Walk Across the Hudson, Ross's deli, and the the Culinary Institute of America, to the town of Hyde Park and FDR's homes and library, then north to Rhinebeck with all the fun shops and eateries, every destination is under 30 minutes away. Great antique stores, bakeries and Farmer's Market are waiting to be discovered and enjoyed. If nature is your thing, you could hike a different trail everyday for a month and not run out of new areas to explore. And after the day's fun, come back to a lovely place where you can sit outside with a glass of wine and enjoy even more of nature's beauty. Hilary is a great host who responds quickly to questions and wants her guests to be comfortable."
