  • Fun and relaxing times at Mr. Ed's Cabin

"We wish we had booked a longer stay. Mr. Ed's Cabin sits on a working farm and is a great spot to get away from the City for a few days. Its very relaxing, and the hosts are welcoming and friendly. I was concerned that being on a farm with hosts and other guests would not be for us. But it was the exact opposite. The hosts really make you feel a part of their farm and then disappear so you can enjoy the sites on the farm. The other guests are also friendly and go about their visit with a lot of joy and curiosity. If you have little ones, it will be fun for them, and gives the parents a reprieve from having to entertain them, as the farm animals and open space provide plenty to view and do. We will be back, and a quick 2 hour drive from the City makes it an easy trip to do."

  • Perfectly Lovely Home (away from home)

"We stayed at Marcia's house for 4 days -- we are 2 adults, 2 teenagers and 2 younger kids. And, we were all comfortable and happy. We came to Millbrook to explore the Hudson Valley and just to "get away". The location is perfect - situated on beautiful grounds (especially loved the lavender lining the walkway to the front door). It is close enough to great hikes, gardens, estates, wineries and small towns -- but, it's a quiet and serene location, where we were able to really unwind. And, the house -- oh my gosh -- just lovely. No clutter. Whimsy antiques, All new feeling. And, the most comfortable couches ever!!! It was hard to get everyone out of the house each day...no one wanted to give up their spot on the couch! Marcia is a thoughtful owner, she left us a plethora of area attraction brochures, maps and even during the reservation process (gave us lots of activity suggestions). Our stay exceeded our expectations and I highly recommend this property as your go-to home in the Hudson Valley. Thanks Marcia for your hospitality!!!"

  • Very cozy home in a great location

"My husband and I with another couple were stayed in this house for the Labor Day weekend (last minute booking). Eilis was a pleasure to deal with! The description of the house was very accurate and the instructions provided were very detailed. This home is somewhat small but beautifully and lovingly decorated, and very clean (which is very important to me). We didn't plan to cook or grill but if we were, the kitchen was stocked with all the basics. There was also coffee/tea machine with variety of k-pods left for us. We loved the area - very close to Rhinebeck (one of our favorite places), close to all sorts of shopping, many restaurants to eat in or order. It was a nice weekend in a very nice and comfortable home."

  • Perfect cottage in the woods

"My friend and I traveled to Rhinebeck for the Dutchess County Sheep and Wool Festival in October, and everything about my experience with Dan and this cottage were top notch. We were traveling from Canada, and at every step of the way, Dan was patient and thoughtful in helping us plan our accommodations. All of our emails backs and forth were detailed and timely, and I appreciated Dan's patience and understanding with arranging payment from another country. In the days leading up to the trip, Dan sent me detailed directions to the cottage, which were incredibly helpful in navigating the local highways and winding country roads. When we arrived at the cottage after a long day of driving, Dan was right there to meet us, and he walked us through every feature of the cottage. It was fantastic, and especially appreciated the fireplace in the living room (we used it both nights we were there!). The cottage includes a small kitchen, which was perfect for putting together our own breakfasts each morning. Dan left coffee, a bottle of milk, and muffins for us in the kitchen, which was a sweet touch. Having a car with us with necessary, as the cottage is about an 8 minute drive from downtown Rhinebeck, but it was a short trip to go and find a meal or explore the town. Dan's restaurant suggestions were right on, we really enjoyed the Thai food place he recommended. The cottage includes WiFi and satellite TV, and it couldn't be a more perfect location. You can sit out on the covered porch and enjoy your coffee while you look out over the trees and the mountains in the distance. Every bit as good as the pictures, and most deserving of a 5-star review rating - highly recommended!"
