  • Wonderful relaxing week in the country!

"The week we spent at this lovely hideaway was the highlight of our summer! Lex, the owner, was so welcoming and did everything to ensure our comfort, showing us around on arrival and providing personal written guides to the house and surrounding spots as well as local maps and guidebooks. The location is ideal, in a secluded clearing in the woods on 2 dead ends yet with easy access to town, rolling farmland, and nearby Hudson and Great Barrington. The house itself is cozy yet modern, open, and comfortable with high sloping ceilings in every room and nothing but green out every window highlighting the natural setting. There was everything we needed to prepare and serve meals indoors or out, and a wonderful eclectic library, too. We had such a relaxing time visiting with friends and family in the area, hiking, swimming in the nearby lake or just staying in to knit or watch the Olympics. We would definitely love to stay here again."

  • What a terrific week in the Berkshires staying at this house......

"This house met all our expectations for liesurely vacation.....the porches, the views the beautiful back yard for relaxing. The house came with all amenities as described in the property description. Plus the owners provided us with a book that they put together for guests full of suggestions for restaurants, cultural events and entertainment in the area. Great place...great visit!"

  • Relaxing getaway

"We stayed at the Riverhouse for two and a half weeks this autumn. We loved the quite retreat but so close to a lot of great attractions and activities. Perfect choice for a relaxing getaway with options for activities when you choose. Great coffee just a hop and a skip down the road."

  • Superb Location!

"My husband, two children (15 and 12) and parents rented this house to celebrate my Mother's 70th birthday. The house is spacious and architecturally interesting. It also has a great feel in that it is not littered with a lot of extraneous stuff, so you don't feel you are intruding into someone's personal space. The converted barn sits on many, many acres and has lovely fields and woods in which to walk and spy deer, woodchucks, and turkeys. There is a great hot tub from which to enjoy the view and a sauna to boot! My kids liked their sleeping loft- complete with foosball table. There is an extensive sound system both inside and outside the house and a comfy TV area to enjoy Sunday football and the Presidential debate. If you are not familiar with Craryville, it is close (10- 15 miles) to a great number of interesting NY farms that raise, among other things, grass fed beef, as well as western Mass towns like Great Barrington and Egremont. The owner was super solicitous (remotely) while we were there to ensure everything was working. He allowed our dog Ruby to join us and was relaxed about both our check in and check out time. The barn has both a wood stove and a fire pit- neither of which we got around to using! I definitely would recommend staying here and plan to come back when time off allows!"
