  • Very Nice Experience

"I recently booked pine tree lodge to do a weekend getaway with some of my close girlfriends. I would consider the drive to find pine tree lodge as "well off the beaten path;" however, with regards to scenery, it is in the perfect location. There are beautiful views of the lake and the sunset from the second floor deck/balcony (there is a larger deck on the first floor with a grill, table, and chairs). In addition, the lake is a very short walk down the hill. I was nervous at first about the heat, as we booked our stay the last weekend of July and there is no air-conditioning in the lodge. This was not a problem at all, the downstairs felt like it was air-conditioned even though it was not, the living room had two large ceiling fans and the bedroom loft has a ceiling fan as well, making the temperature very comfortable. The lodge was very clean when we arrived, slightly dusty in some areas, but you can expect that with a cabin in the middle of the woods. Overall our experience was great and our deposit was refunded within three days of leaving. Cant beat that!"

  • Superb Location!

"My husband, two children (15 and 12) and parents rented this house to celebrate my Mother's 70th birthday. The house is spacious and architecturally interesting. It also has a great feel in that it is not littered with a lot of extraneous stuff, so you don't feel you are intruding into someone's personal space. The converted barn sits on many, many acres and has lovely fields and woods in which to walk and spy deer, woodchucks, and turkeys. There is a great hot tub from which to enjoy the view and a sauna to boot! My kids liked their sleeping loft- complete with foosball table. There is an extensive sound system both inside and outside the house and a comfy TV area to enjoy Sunday football and the Presidential debate. If you are not familiar with Craryville, it is close (10- 15 miles) to a great number of interesting NY farms that raise, among other things, grass fed beef, as well as western Mass towns like Great Barrington and Egremont. The owner was super solicitous (remotely) while we were there to ensure everything was working. He allowed our dog Ruby to join us and was relaxed about both our check in and check out time. The barn has both a wood stove and a fire pit- neither of which we got around to using! I definitely would recommend staying here and plan to come back when time off allows!"
