  • Great Gettaway

"We had a glorious weekend with old friends. The red barn is a wonderful spot nestled in the woods on a hill. The house has breathtaking views which are not to be missed. The home's eclectic style is the perfect spot for those who like to cook a meal and share it with friends. The large farm table and huge central island made the kitchen a joy to cook in. All we had to do was bring food as this house is so well-equipped. The rooms are small but well appointed and the unique location of one of the sleeping suites behind a wall of books gives this place harry potter charm. The five children in our group between the ages of eight and 13 found niches to Hyden and places to play as it rained for two days of our stay. None of them ever complained about a lack of television and we never told the kids about the Wi-Fi. Great place don't miss it. we are already planning our next trip!"

  • Cozy Getaway

"Awed by the fact that this charming cottage-like house was built two years before George Washington took the oath of office as our first president, everything was seen and appreciated through this lens. The house sits among trees, shrubs, fields, with ponds nearby. That, and the sight of white rocking chairs on the front porch, invite serenity and a leveling of the spirit. The house is well-equipped and cozy, convenient to all the charms of the surrounding area and beyond. This was the perfect dwelling place for a coming together around the farmer's kitchen table of some of my friends and family members. Can't wait for spring."
