  • Perfect cottage in the woods

"My friend and I traveled to Rhinebeck for the Dutchess County Sheep and Wool Festival in October, and everything about my experience with Dan and this cottage were top notch. We were traveling from Canada, and at every step of the way, Dan was patient and thoughtful in helping us plan our accommodations. All of our emails backs and forth were detailed and timely, and I appreciated Dan's patience and understanding with arranging payment from another country. In the days leading up to the trip, Dan sent me detailed directions to the cottage, which were incredibly helpful in navigating the local highways and winding country roads. When we arrived at the cottage after a long day of driving, Dan was right there to meet us, and he walked us through every feature of the cottage. It was fantastic, and especially appreciated the fireplace in the living room (we used it both nights we were there!). The cottage includes a small kitchen, which was perfect for putting together our own breakfasts each morning. Dan left coffee, a bottle of milk, and muffins for us in the kitchen, which was a sweet touch. Having a car with us with necessary, as the cottage is about an 8 minute drive from downtown Rhinebeck, but it was a short trip to go and find a meal or explore the town. Dan's restaurant suggestions were right on, we really enjoyed the Thai food place he recommended. The cottage includes WiFi and satellite TV, and it couldn't be a more perfect location. You can sit out on the covered porch and enjoy your coffee while you look out over the trees and the mountains in the distance. Every bit as good as the pictures, and most deserving of a 5-star review rating - highly recommended!"

  • Perfect rustic cozy cabin retreat

"Perfect rustic cozy cabin retreat. This adorable cabin had all the amenities we could hope for and our dogs loved it. Close to local attractions, restaurants and lakes. We enjoyed breakfast on the screened in porch, relaxing in the Adirondack chairs in the yard with the dogs exploring the yard on convenient tie out anchored on a tree near by. Very enjoyable weekend. Thank you Loretta for opening your cabin to us, Heather, Guy, Lily, Leila and Daisy"

  • Could not ask for more gorgeous home and view

"My friends and I were looking to escape hectic NYC for a weekend upstate, and this was an absolutely perfect location! The cabin is exactly the sort of atmospheric, cozy spot I had romanticized in my mind that we would stay in. I didn't expect to find a place that fulfilled my ideal, but this exceed it. The cabin was clean, beautifully finished, and spacious enough for all of us, and also felt perfectly intimate at night when we cooked together and gathered around the table near the log stove for dinner and games. The view from the living room out over the Catskills in the morning and in the evening is beyond stunning. We were there in mid-December and I can't even begin to imagine how phenomenal it must be in the summer and fall. My friends and I can't wait to go back! The location of the cabin is also incredible. It is set in a tranquil wooded area (I had the most peaceful nights of sleep), and is a quick jaunt into Hudson, which was a charming town. There were endless great surrounding hiking trails to take advantage of. The owners were so friendly and helpful in all of our interactions, and even graciously mailed me a shirt I had accidentally left behind. I can't say enough about this place, you will have a wonderful visit if you stay here. I am looking forward to a sunset G&T on the deck post-hike, looking out over the mountains, come this spring."
