  • Charming, spacious home with big yard close to the beach

"We spent a wonderful week at this home. We shared the house with friends--four adults and three children ages 6, 4, and 2--and had ample space for all our goings on. The house is close to a small private beach and a short drive or bike ride (there are a few bikes to choose from in the shed) from several bigger, public beaches. When we weren't at the beach, we relaxed in the comfort of several different sitting areas within the house. In the cooler evenings, the backyard offered plenty of grass for catch and two grills for cooking. The house itself is older and the decor reveals eclectic taste and widespread travels. The only knock on the house we had is that kitchen could use an overhaul. Several drawers are hard to close and the space often felt cramped. This comment stems more from an effort to provide a balanced review than a major disappointment. We still cooked amazing meals during our time here. Most of all, we left very relaxed after an incredibly pleasant week in this house."

  • Perfectly situated Shelter Island gem

"My wife and I and our two daughters (6 & 4) just stayed here for a week in July. Grandma and Grandpa, as well as Uncle Chris accompanied us on the vacation. The house was the perfect size for all 7 of us and very well equipped. The house is in an ideal spot on the island. Short walk to Wades beach (We didn't even need to buy a parking permit for the beach). The pool is great and quite large. The yard is also quite large and has a great view of the water extending over to Shell Beach. The owner was great to work with and very welcoming. We were encouraged to utilize the Kayaks, Stand Up Paddle board, and bikes which we did! There was a nice gas weber grill and a nice charcoal grill as well. The kitchen is very well equipped and has a sub zero fridge and viking range and oven. The best part was the view. You can sit on the porch and watch the sunset and sailboats drift by. You may even spot Jimmy Buffett heading in for a landing towards North Haven in his seaplane if you are on the lookout! Truly the way Shelter Island is to be enjoyed. Great stay."

  • Peter Mostert

"Myself and a few friends recently stayed at Kim's house. The house was so comfy. The house is in a little secluded place overlooking a protected marsh. A great pool with a wonderful BBQ area on the back balcony with great seating in and outside the house - comfortable for a large group. You will lack for nothing from a well equipped kitchen to very comfortable beds and many diffrent areas to the house if you want some quiet time. All that was promised was supplied and an owner that was a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend!"

  • Amazing week in paradise

"We had a lovely week in this beautiful house. Perfectly situated to get to local beaches or amazing restaurants but still far enough away from any crowds. Plenty of things to do at the house so honestly we didn't want to leave the grounds. Huge yard, beautiful tennis court, super fun Bocce field and nice size pool. What more can you want? How about enough bikes for everyone and a gourmet kitchen. The total package. We will be back next year!"
