  • Immaculate

"As I arrived to the apartment along with my family we had an instant reaction of pleasantness. The inviting openness of this unit is very inviting, and its level of cleanliness brought an instant smile to my face. As we toured the apartment we found that Jackie and Dan have thought about pretty much everything, i.e. guest toothbrush, shampoo, soap, etc., amenities found in a hotel room but with the added bonus of being in a setup of "home away from home"; kitchen fully stocked with all that could be possibly needed to cook a nice meal, even some small condiments and cleaning supplies... these small details make a huge difference. I look forward to going back in the years to come. Negatives - if any, these are the closest to being considered as such: 1. Poorly working defogger in the bathroom. Us ladies need a defogger so that the humidity does not stay for long in the bathroom, even with the window fully open this was a bit challenging. 2. This is just a minor comment rather than an actual negative... the water handle in the shower can be a bit tricky, I either burned or froze myself, was hard to find the happy medium. A final comment, the owners were hospitable and ready to answer our questions. This was truly a wonderful experience and a pleasant surprise."

  • Beautiful View and Very Comfortable Accommodations

"When I decided to rent this property for a long fall weekend I was a bit nervous because at that time there were no reviews. The pictures on line looked very nice and the view so inviting, but I like to read reviews... Every fall we rent a house on the East End for a girlfriends weekend. This was one of our favorite houses. We are all clean freaks, the first thing we do is wipe down all surfaces with disinfectant wipes. Every white wipe came back clean. I accidentally split some water on the dining room wood floor and when I wiped it up with a paper towel there was not a speck of dirt on it. This is probably the cleanest house I have rented on VRBO! We like to cook and the kitchen was well appointed. Lots of pots and pans, silver wear, plates, everything you need. From the pictures I did not realize the kitchen opened up to the dining room and the dining room to the living room and both were separated from the den by sliding glass doors. We really liked this because when we were cooking we felt connected to the rest of our group. We also like the airy feeling this setup provided. There is both a living room and den, both of which were comfortable and cozy. Plus two tables to eat at. We loved the view from the den and deck, it is as beautiful as the pictures look. We enjoyed walking on the beach and through the neighborhood. Everyone we met was so friendly. We liked that the sleeping area was separate from the living area so that those of us that choose to go to bed early were not disturbed by those that choose to stay up later. In summary, if you are looking for a comfortable house which is clean, airy, comfortable with a great view, I highly recommend this property. I will definitely rent it again."

  • What a beach cottage should be

"We stayed in this charming cottage for a week in July. It was exactly what we wanted and the location, quality and property all exceeded our expectations. The owners, Linda & Andy, have put an incredible amount of effort into this cottage, and it shows. It is decorated with an attention to detail that is amazing, and it is a property that in person, is every bit as good as the pictures. First, it is a very private cottage. While you have neighbors, the houses are spaced and the landscaping is such that you have all the privacy you want. The water is right in front of the house, and I found myself waking up early to sit either in the dining room or on the deck watching the bay come alive while the family slept. It was a total de-stresser and was an amazing way to start the day. The house is conveniently located about a 10 min drive to Southampton village, and 10 mins to the amazing beaches of Southampton, including Coopers (which requires you to pay to park) and Road D (which doesn't but you have to get there early to get a parking spot). The pool at the house was awesome - just the right size to take a dip, and allowed for private sunbathing. It is set in an amazing garden that has to be seen to be believed. It is like a postcard all to itself and was a welcome respite from the heat in the middle of the day. On the "nitty gritty", the beds/linens were very comfortable, there are more than enough towels/blankets and sleeping accommodations. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils, but make sure you do a grocery run before you turn up. If you want spices/etc. for cooking that you use regularly, remember to throw some in your bag before you come so you don't have to buy a whole bottle and leave it (e.g. pepper, seasoning salt for grilling, etc.). The outdoor grill is excellent, so be sure to take advantage of it! The home has a regular coffee maker and a Nespresso (original) machine. Bring capsules if you want to use it as we didn't find a place to buy them in town. Andy and Linda were outstanding hosts and live nearby. They were great about answering questions and providing info about the area. To sum it up, when we drove away from this property, we were i) wondering exactly when we were coming back and ii) regretting that we were leaving. That is the definition of a successful stay!"
