"This is the best vacation I have had in years! Everything was perfectly clean and manicured. Liza gave us great suggestions for happening spots that we loved visiting. We will book our next trip soon!"

  • Simple elegance, open air, clean and comfortable

"We were lucky enough to rent this beautiful home near Dune Road for a few days in August. My husband and I, our two children along with my sister and her daughter fit nicely in this lovely house. Heather is a gracious host, was always available for any questions and even had fresh flowers and a welcoming note in the house for our arrival. The location of the house is ideal - cross over Dune Road to the beach or around the corner for kayaking on the bay. Sunsets on the roof deck are not to be missed. We rent homes from VRBO often and this one is at the top of our list! Highly recommended"

  • Location, Location, the beach!

"This was our first time renting a cottage in Montauk as opposed to staying in a hotel. We went with another couple and wanted a place with our own bedrooms with a comfortable common area so that we could eat, hang out and talk and this cottage met the criteria. It was also a short walk to the beach and very secluded from the main road. Alison was there to meet us when we got there and was very helpful with any questions or additional needs that we had. It was clean and quaintly decorated. From what I am told, a lot of the cottages built for only summer use in the similar price range are on the older side, with a rustic feel, and dank smell to them, as was this one. There were 2 bedrooms. The master had a comfortable king size bed, high ceilings and big windows that let in the early light. There were no room darkening shades. So, if you are able to sleep in a fully brightened room it shouldn’t be a problem. There was also a nest or 2 of baby birds living under the roof. Not sure when they leave the nest for good but they tended to get up and started chirping around sunrise (5am) which made sleeping soundly after 5am in the master bedroom a little challenging. The other bedroom was smaller (b/ still a good size) with only 1 window and shades that blocked out the sun. I know that a lot of people prefer a firm/hard mattress but I would consider bringing a foam mattress topper for additional comfort. The kitchen had all the amenities that we needed for our stay and the living room area was very inviting and comfortable. One last thing that didn’t take away from the amazing time we had but did prove to be a bit of an annoyance was the amount of flies that were in the house. When the windows were left open to take advantage of the fresh air/breezes, it appeared that they came in though the small holes in the screens. Needless to say, the fly swatter came in very handy "

  • charming cottage w/pool and lovely landscaping

"I have so many good things to say about our experience staying at the cottage, I'm not sure where to start. First, Melinda is incredibly gracious and thoughtful. Even before we arrived, she gave me several suggestions for local bakeries where I could get my husband's birthday cake made. Knowing we had two kids, she left the inner tubes and noodles out by the side of the pool. It's not just pool toys that Melinda made available to us - the cottage is well supplied with every kitchen item you could want, lawn games, and lots of beach towels (plus a beach umbrella for trips to the nearby beaches ... which brings me to my second point). The cottage is really perfectly situated. It is within minutes from town (markets, pharmacy, Hampton Jitney and LIRR station) and a 10-minute drive to the wonderful Ponquogue and Tiana beaches. We even brought our bikes and biked over the bridge to the beaches, though I would not suggest this for younger kids. Finally, the cottage, pool and lovely landscaping are so charming and comfortable. It was a pleasure spending time there and we hope to be able to spend more time there in future years!"
