  • Glorious!

"This house is glorious--airy, spacious, beautiful! It looks out onto Lake Marion, which is home to egrets, herons, swans: we loved to pick up our binoculars and watch from either of two screened porches that look out over the water. And off to the side we could see the bay, just a five minute walk away. The house has two floors, each with its own living room and screened porch, and on each floor there are two generously-sized bedrooms, each with its own bathroom—four altogether. There were only two of us, but the house would comfortably accommodate a family. It is furnished beautifully, the kitchen modern and very well appointed. The owner is an artist, and it shows in every detail. A beautiful home!"

  • Wonderful retreat with plenty of space

"We held a "ladies weekend" in October and the house had plenty of room for our group of seven. Sitting in the kitchen area, around the dining room table, or lounging in the family room or backyard – it was comfortable and relaxing! Eclectic decor adds to the character of the home and we truly enjoyed our time there. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking, lots of games to play, and a new audio system for tunes. ;) The owners were responsive and easy to work with. We loved the location – easy to get to Shelter Island, farm stands, Orient Point, vineyards, and, of course, Greenport. Wish we could go there once a month!!"

  • Spacious house with good layout; very close to calm, mostly sandy beach area.

"The house is as advertised, including a large kitchen, and the beach, though small, was lightly used even during the Labor Day holiday season. The waters are ideal for swimming, as the small cove shape of the beach keeps motor craft far off shore. The owners of the property are extremely gracious people. We had a medical emergency during our stay, and they were constantly engaged with offers of help, far beyond the call of duty. We would completely trust renting from them again and being there for a truly relaxing stay."
