  • Ideal location for exploring Brooklyn & Manhattan

"290 Carroll is just as described: simple decor, super-clean, well-equipped for eating-in. Access to washer&dryer was handy, especially after coming home dripping wet after being caught by sudden, unexpected rainstorm. Bathroom is dark; if you wear make-up, you'll want an extra light or be ready to use bedroom mirror. Comfy beds and adequate closet/dresser space. Rocking chair and sofa in living area were relaxing at the end of long walking days. WiFi was speedy enough. AC worked well, although high humidity and temperatures pushed its limits — and this was in September! Melissa was always available via phone or email to field inquiries, even though she was not always present upstairs. Neighborhood living is a wonderful way to experience NYC and Brooklyn, in particular. Easy access to F-train for travel into Manhattan and downtown Brooklyn (including Brooklyn Bridge area). Carroll Gardens offers an interesting demographic mix that makes for good people-watching and restaurant exploring, especially those Italian bakeries! Varied cuisine among many nearby restaurants. Bikes available, and if our stay had been longer, it would have been fun to ride as far as Prospect Park: next trip?!? Yes, I'll be back — likely in springtime when botanical gardens (BKLN and Bronx) are in full flower."
