  • Great, spacious neighborhood house - definitely recommend!

"Great house to rent for a group of people - spacious, clean, nice kitchen with every gadget. We didn't have to immediately run out and buy soap, shampoo, tissue - the house was nicely stocked with basic goods. Rooms were clean and there was enough lighting throughout the house. Would definitely rent it again."

  • Needs a touch of home

"We rented this apartment in March 2017 for a trip to New York to celebrate a family event. We needed three bedrooms and two bathrooms to comfortably accommodate all of our family and this place fit the bill. The location is okay, and is about a 10 to 20 minute walk from streets with subways and restaurants, depending on which direction you choose. Parking was not a problem for us. As a guideline it cost about $25 to Uber from Greenwich Village. Pros: The apartment is on the second floor of a three-story building and is very spacious, with a large living room, kitchen, three bedrooms and two baths. The bedrooms are all well sized with lots of closet space. There is plenty of natural light coming in. When we arrived the place was very clean, the beds made up nicely and some bath towels were provided. Upon arrival, we were able to talk by phone with the owner: he was extremely pleasant, answered any questions that we had and resolved a few minor issues fairly quickly. Cons: There were several other minor problems that did not get resolved while we were there: some of the electrical outlets were not working, although there were plenty in the apartment to make up the lack. As far as we can tell, none of the table lamps worked, neither in the living room nor in the bedrooms. The faucet knobs in both bathtubs were broken and had to be manipulated in order for us to take showers. There were just dangling wires where the smoke alarm should be. The apartment was cold when we arrived and the owner advised us to put the thermostat at a high level until the place warmed up, and to use the space heaters provided in the meantime. One of the three space heaters didn’t work and, even with the thermostat ridiculously high, it took a full two days before the apartment was warm enough without the use of the space heaters. We've made the owner aware of these issues so hopefully they will not apply for the next renter! Although we had everything we needed, there were not many amenities provided, like hand soap, wash towels and bath mats for the bathrooms. Bottom line: This place could be awesome if someone would just make sure that everything is working and if some little homey touches could be added to make it feel lived in and welcoming."

  • Great location. Would recommend for 6 people max

"This is a fairly nice condo in a very convenient location - just a couple of blocks from Gates Ave subway stop that will take you right into Manhattan in 15 mins. As a typical big city condo, it's cramped. I wouldn't recommend for more than 6 people. There isn't enough couch space / seating to hang out for a group larger than that. However, this would make a good jump-off spot for people eager to explore the city who really just need a place to sleep."
