  • Lovely Host, Lovely apartment, Lovely area

"Marina was the most welcoming and friendly host, and greeted us (we were hot and tired) with a smile and a bottle of chilled water, which was exactly what we needed. Marina knows what a traveler needs, as is obvious from the facilities in the apartment. The fridge is full of chilled water, half and half; there is complimentary tea and coffee, lovely shampoos, conditioners, soaps, body wash. There are robes, umbrellas , hair dryers, DVDs, sewing kit, all kinds of useful things that one might have forgotten to bring. The apartment is artsy and comfortable and is in such a great location - right in the middle of the West Village, which is full of gorgeous restaurants, coffee shops, little stores; there is jazz and theater close by. We were so pleased we decided to stay here. I highly recommend this apartment, and could not have asked for a nicer host. Thank you, Marina."

  • LOCATION, COMFORT, GREAT HOST

"I and my sister stayed here for 8 nights and loved the place. Very close to several subway lines (the E line is at the corner of 8th Avenue and 44th Street--which is only one block from the apartment--the E line will take you to the air train then into JFK for easy and inexpensive airport transportation). Only one block from Broadway, close to restaurants, shops, hop on hop off is across the street on 8th. I'd rate it a five stars except the apartment could use updating on the living room chairs (rips in the upholstery) and sofa (a bit worn) and the apartment smelled of cigarette smoke (from an adjacent apartment?). Open the window when you leave and it will smell more fresh when you return. Don, the owner, was VERY helpful and returned almost all emails the same day. This place won't disappoint you. I stayed in the bedroom and my sister stayed on the very comfortable sofa. (It pulls out to a sofa bed, but she just made up the sofa for a bed without pulling it out and it was large and comfortable for her.) The best part of this apartment is that it is so easy to go back to late in the afternoon to re-fresh, re-group and then go back out again, and the NYC subway is easy to figure out, so the fact that you're only a few blocks from the A, C, E, 1, 2, 3, 7, and N, R, Q lines is a great plus. Walk a couple of blocks to the Q line and go all the way to Coney Island with no transfers, or walk one block to the E line and get all the way to JFK with only one transfer to the air Train...."

  • Wonderful apartment on the Upper West Side

"My husband and I spent 2 weeks in this lovely apartment in a great building with a terrific location. The proximity to Central Park, the subway, Whole Foods, and a myriad of restaurants provided a rich menu of amenities and a thoroughly New York experience. Carolyn and Amanda's help procuring theater tickets was an added bonus. We can't wait to return."

  • Perfect location and fantastic interactions

"My wife and I visited in July 2016, during a modest heat wave (first time NYC travelers!). The owner showed us around the unit and we were surprised with how much functionality the place had. The bed slept comfy and the bathroom and other amenities were acceptable and clean. The window unit was able to maintain a pleasant temp despite the heat outside. The apartment is literally blocks away from Central park and the fantastic Upper West Side (cross streets Columbus, Amsterdam and Broadway). This location is a 10 minute walk from 20+ restaurants, metro stop (B & C line), Central Park, Natural History Museum and many more places. The owners were very friendly and relaxing (hand's off). You can tell there's a fun history of previous travelers that have come through, as there is a binder of restaurant menus complete with hand written recommendations & notes. Would highly recommend to friends and family."
