  • Cozy East Village studio

"We stayed for one week. Comfortable bed, great bathroom, smallish kitchen. Close to great restaurants and easy to the rest of the city. Stairs to the second floor a bit steep. If you have trouble with stairs, make sure you check the floor since there are a number of units on different floors. Lee, who helped us check in was great."

  • The perfect getway

"We enjoyed our weeklong stay in this stylish East Village NYC apartment very much. Alex was 100% transparent as a host but as soon as we got in touch for the small questions we got a promptly response. The apartment is good for a family of four and features WiFi, TV and an iMac to check email in case you don't have your own device. Everything is very clean. The neighbourhood is lovel and Alex did the most to get us the warmest week in April ever. Can't wait to come back! PS. A stereo would be a good addition!"

  • Perfect apartment exceeding our expectations!

"Often in life when something seems to be too good to be true it is. This apartment was the exception to that rule even better than we had hoped; it was pretty much perfect in every detail. Apartment was gorgeous, clean, gourmet kitchen, quiet, spacious, nicely furnished, comfy beds, unbelievably nice patio, great neighborhood. Walking distance to Katz deli and Supper for dinner. Close to subways. This is the part of Manhattan you want to be in. Avion was great to work with, easy to contact. Would highly recommend to family and friends and hope to stay there again on another visit to wonderful NY."

  • Authentic East Village Experience

"We stayed at this property for a week in late November, and really enjoyed it. It's located in Manhattan's East Village, a rough neighbourhood in the past, but now one that feels quite bohemian, full of the young artsy crowd and all kinds of tiny bars and ethnic restaurants. We felt quite safe walking around at night. The apartment is on the 3rd floor of a 100-year old 5-storey walk-up tenement, typical of the neighbourhood. It was clean, comfortable, and functional. It felt quite roomy, with a big kitchen/dining area, a bedroom with a firm-but-not-too-firm queen-size bed, and a living room with a sofa and armchair. The rooms are in a "railroad" layout, meaning that they are all in a row with no corridor, so you have to go through the bedroom to get to the living room. Both ends of the apartment have opening windows which allows for good ventilation with surprisingly little outside noise. The apartment was tastefully decorated in a sparse French style, featuring eclectic sculptures and pictures. The apartment had many, shall we say, "authentic historical features": exposed wiring, creaky pipes, painted kitchen floor, etc. Depending on your point of view that makes it either decrepit or charming. I would say the latter. This was a classic "vacation rental by owner", meaning that the owners usually live there and only rent it out while they are away. As a result there was a fair amount of the owner's stuff in the apartment, but it didn't feel intrusive. We received a warm welcome from the owner, and there were the basics for our first breakfast already in the fridge. We had one issue during the week that was dealt with promptly. All in all, we had a great stay and we'd cheerfully do it again the next time we're in New York."
